A couple of thank you cards

The theme at Less is More this week is Thank you or Congratulations. I opted for a couple of thank you cards, but I'm not thrilled with either. The first features some Hobby Art stamps with an Inkylicious tree and has been watercoloured with Distress inks. This base card wasn't a great surface to watercolour on, so the shading wasn't how I'd wanted it.
The second card was initially just going to be the inchie stamps (Inkadinkado) stamped directly onto the base card, but I tried and decided it needed some colour. I stamped again onto some glossy cardstock brayered with Big and Juicy spice, then cut out and stuck on. Using Macro on my camera has made it look less straight than it actually is!
The sentiment on this one is from Waltzing Mouse. I might try it again with some other colours. Any suggestions? Thanks for looking!

    I bought some Inkadinkadoo inchie stamps in a fit of enthusiasm quite some time ago, but I'm sad to say they've not seen ink yet. Maybe you've given me the inspiration to get them out and have a go!
    They're both lovely cards, but I'm so pleased that you are continually assessing what you do for future improvements!

    I have a brayer but need to look for a tutorial to see how to use it properly. I like your second card best with the tile effect. x

    Both great cards, but I think I really like the look of the inchies. I've had little luck with my brayer, so I usually end up sponging on the color!

    Hi Sally - two lovely cards, but I prefer the inchie one.
    I'm not one for telling people what to do, but since you asked (!), how about leaving out the Cow and "second-stamping" another tree image (ie: ink the tree, stamp once onto scrap paper then stamp onto your card without re-inking)placing it slightly to the side, and further back from the first tree image to make it fade into the distance. Just a thought, as the tree stamp is so beautiful. Hugs, Sylvia xxx

    If I may say the ;trick' with mosaic effect is to get the positioning perfect. I always place one square, then a 'pretend' one, not stuck, then stick the next and move the pretend on and so on It does five for perfect positioning

    Both great cards, Sally. I rarely use my inches stamps being stuck with what to do with them. This is a perfect idea and by changing the colours the look of the card will change each time won't it. I must have a play.

    I love both of these. The first has a really hand-drawn quality which I like and I love the inchies on the second. I agree about other colours - go for it Sally! Make a whole set!
