Less is more - one layer and 3 stamps

Hi There
It has been a bit of a topsy turvy weekend, so I'm later getting here than intended. There I was Saturday afternoon starting my LIM card and suddenly it was walked over by an ant! I cleared my craft space and found one more, removed the packet of boiled sweets and sat down to craft again. Five minutes later there was another! I've still not found where they are coming from, but I have spent some time crawling round on my hands and knees!
Anyway, I finally finished my card for this weeks Less is More challenge.
I have to admit I was inspired my my lovely friend Sylvia, to get out my Indigo Blu stamps. All of these are from the Poppy Meadow plate except for the butterfly that was from a set of butterflies I picked up in Tescos a few years ago. I added a bit of distress inks in Crushed Olive and Tumbled Glass with my ink dusters, and added some colour to the butterfly with aqua-markers, before covering it in glitter.
I have emptied my craft space a further twice today, chasing the elusive blighters, and found them very distracting, hence just the one card! However, it was not all bad, as I was delighted to discover I have won some flitter glu and Yorkshire Dales mega flakes  in the Samuel Taylor April challenge. That definitely made my day! Right, off to lay some traps and peer at the skirting boards!
Thanks for looking!

  1. You should put some ink on the ant's boots, they might make some interesting patterns on your cards!
This is a super one without their help however!
    Thanks so much

  3. I was thrilled when I saw you'd won this morning. Husband is waging war on little cotton nests of spiders he keeps finding attached to our front door - as for the hand sized one that he trapped under his paper clips container as it rushed at him......well I was called upon to help evict that one.
Glorious soft background & I love the pop of colour with the butterfly & the way the cursive script is echoed in not only the butterfly wings but the foliage.
    Just lovely.

  7. Hi Sally - what a beautiful tranquil scene - the soft brayering is fabulous, and I do love the Indigo Blu images.

Thank you for the mention BTW - that was so kind of you.

I do hope you get rid of those ants. It reminds me of a holiday in a hot climate a few years ago - woke up one morning to find an army of the little blighters running around on the bed-sheets IN our bed. I was ever so slightly shocked!

    Have a happy, ant-free week!
    Hugs, Sylvia xx

  9. Fabulous card.
Hope you conquer your ant problem soon - why oh why can't they just stick to the garden and not invade our space.

  12. Love the gorgeous card Sally. It's so calm and peaceful looking it makes you feel you could lay on a blanket and just daydream .............. and hope you don't get attacked by pesky ants. I have to say I detest the little blighters and each year they try to take up residence under the ceramic floor tiles in my conservatory/craftroom. I found three scouts doing a rekkie over the weekend so eviction measures are called for I think. I have an advantage over you though cos I know where they are coming from, lol! Hope you get rid of yours quickly.

    Hugs
    Lesley Xx

  13. Have you got ants in your pants, Sally. Sorry couldn't resist. That'd be something your school children would say isn't it. Hope you get rid of them soon.
Love this card. I saw Sylvia's too and they are both beautiful. Who can resist grasses and butterflies.

  14. Such a beautiful peaceful card Sally and the inky background is stunning. I had an ant problem once and it was the same thing - a boiled sweet had fallen out of a packet. The trouble was it had melted and so even when I thought I'd removed it there was still a sticky residue. When I'd done a deep clean I never saw the ants again! Vicky x
