Another new Inkylicious stamp

I needed a birthday card for a very dear friend, so I decided to ink up a new Inkylicious stamp. This one is called Jasmin Garden. I ink dusted the background with Adirondack Peach Bellini, mountain rose, Memento lilac posies and grape Jelly. I then decoupaged the butterflies/ moths and coloured those with gelly roll sparkle pens. This panel was layered on a dark purple panel. The base card was dusted with the same inks and stamped with some similar flower silhouettes from the Summer Morn stamp set. I had intended mounting the panel in the centre, but it didn't look right, so I moved it until the horizons met and decided to stick it there! Off centre, but better than in the middle! What do you think? I went round the jasmin garden stamp frame with a lilac promarker and added faux stitching to the dark purple layer with the gelly roll pen.
Thanks for looking and don't forget to sign up for my follower candy here.

  2. Off centre works, it's balanced by the greeting in the other corner, I can see why centred wouldn't look right.
    Beautiful card!

  4. Wow, this one is a real stunner Sally! I love the off centre panel and, in fact, I do more off centre myself than centred usually. Actually, when I first looked at this card I thought you had just placed a frame over a section of the background because you married up the horizons so well. Love the pretty moths/butterflies. Coincidence but I recently rediscovered my Sakura gelly roll sparkle pens .... had forgotten how much I love them for subtle sparkle.

  5. Gorgeous, & love the colours! The frame is in just the right place. Matched up with the horizons, it looks as though that's exactly what you intended in the first place! x

  7. Looks brilliant - as if you're looking through a frame. Thought initially you'd made a scene & then added the frame etc….to look through. No it wouldn't look right at all in the centre - the hills meet beautifully this way.
