Spring Zing!

Hi There! It's 1st April and time for a new Challenge theme in the Bee Crafty Facebook group. I chose Spring Zing for the theme this month. Think citrus colours and spring themed images for this one. I created this journal page to inspire you.

I began by blending 3 shades of Distress oxide ink across the pages - I used spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron and Mustard Seed.
Next, I lifted off some of the colour, by spraying the Bakewell Big one inkable with water, laying it over the page and blotting with a clean cloth. I then dried it completely with a heat tool.
In other areas on the page, I used the tag inkable to add some more spiced marmalade and Twisted Citron inks using a blending brush.
I added stamping using the same inks and the worker stamps from the Daisy stamp set.
On a separate piece of smooth card, I stamped the daisy in memento ink and coloured it using alcohol markers before cutting it out. I cut the daisy head from the stem as it was too tall for the page. This also allowed me to angle it differently.
I added this daisy to the background using Matte Medium.
next I followed the same steps for the larger daisy from the sketchy flowers set.
on a thin strip of card I stamped the sentiment and cut to separate each word.
I splattered the page with Spiced Marmalade distress spritz and added the sentiment and the small daisy using Matte Medium.
Finally I added faux stitching and a few highlights using Gelly Roll Moonlight pens.
Here are the finished pages once more.

I used:
Big ones inkable - I used Bakewell
Tag inkables - I used set #1
5x5" sketchbook
Distress oxide inks - I used Mustard seed, Twisted Citron and Spiced Marmalade
Black Memento ink
Alcohol markers

I do hope you can join in the challenge this month.
Thanks for looking!
