Inky Background Card

Hi There! I had lots of offcuts of white card on my desk so thought I would make use of one for this card.

I began by blending Distress ink across the card. I used Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral and Seedless Preserves.

Next I placed over the Tag inkable from set 3 and blended black ink through it.
Using the crackle stamp not on a block, I randomly stamped patches of crackle in Versafine Clair ink.
I added stamping using journaling essentials #1 in Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves and Versafine Clair black ink.
I added a splatter of Dina Wakley White gloss spray and left to dry.
On a scrap of black card I stamped and heat embossed a ticker tape sentiment in white.
I stamped a sketchy flower in black, coloured with pencils and cut out
Finally I matted the panel onto a 6x6 inch card, adding the sentiment and the flower on foam pads.
I used:
6x6 inch white card
14 x 7cm piece of smooth white card
Distress ink in Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot
Dina Wakley White gloss spray
Embossing ink
Coloured pencils
foam pads

A couple of ATCs

Hi There! It is lovely that Artist Trading Cards are still popular in the Crafting community. For this who don't already know, They are little creations measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches. I thought I would show you how I made these ATCs today.

I began by spraying two ATCs using Distress oxide sprays in Peacock Feathers and Crackling Campfire, and left them to dry.
I used Versafine Clair ink in Warm Breeze and Acorn to Stamp some of the mandalas on to them.
Once these were dry, I rubbed over them with an anti static cloth and stamped a few patches of the crackle stamp in versamark ink, Embossing with Gold detail embossing powder.

On a scrap of white card I stamped the butterfly several times. I inked the centre of the stamp again and stamped directly onto the ATCs where the butterflies were to be positioned. I then coloured them and cut them out, cutting off the antennae.

I shaped the wings a little with a bone folder and stuck them on with Collage Medium.

Next I selected some words from the small word stamp set, stamped in Versamark ink onto some teal-coloured card and heat embossed in white. I cut these out and attached to the ATCs.
here are a couple more photos with the light catching the gold embossing

I used:
Mixed media card cut into ATCs
Distress oxide sprays in Peacock Feathers and Crackling Campfire
Coloured pencils
Versafine Clair inks in Nocturne, Warm Breeze and Acorn
Versamark ink
Embossing powders in detail gold and detail white

I will be live on the Bee Crafty Facebook page at 8pm this evening if you fancy joining me.

Inky Layers

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I created this card today.

I began by blending Mermaid lagoon, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry distress oxide inks across some mixed media card. It doesn't need to be perfect, and the colours should overlap to get the green and orange tones.
Next I sprayed a dinkable from set 11 with water and pressed it onto the inked card. I left it in place for a few seconds and rubbed over it with a dry cloth. When I lifted it off, I waited a few seconds then blotted it to lift the colour from the wet areas.
Once this was dry, I used Doodle Art Mandalas and 3 shades of Versafine Clair ink to stamp over the inky background. I also sponged a little black ink around the edges.
Next I added a line of faux stitching in white gel pen around the edge of the panel.
On a scrap of mixed media card I stamped the rainbow bird in black versafine clair ink, painting it with Dina Wakley gloss drops. I set this aside to dry.
I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink onto black card and embossed in white, cutting it out and matting and layering on a white piece of card.
Finally, I added the background to a 5x5 white card, layering with some black paper, before adding the bird and the sentiment using foam pads.
I used:
5x5 white card base
4.5" square of mixed media card
Distress oxide inks in Mustard Seed, Mermaid Lagoon and Picked Raspberry
Versafine Clair ink in Warm Breeze, Charming Pink and Nocturne
White gel pen
Dina Wakley Gloss drops in Bodacious, Gnarly, Legit and Radical
Versamark ink

A quick card in Pastel colours

Hi There! I am here with a quick and simple card for you today.

I began by adding masking tape about a third of the way across a 5x5" card blank, then blending speckled egg distress ink through the inkable big one, but not up to the edge of the card.
Next I used the mandala inkable and blended kitsch flamingo Distress Oxide ink through it
on a separate scrap of card I stamped the smaller dandedaisy in memento ink and coloured with alcohol markers.
I stuck this to the card along the area where the tape was.
I stamped the sentiment using second generation Fantasia Versafine Clair ink.
Finally I added some more stamping using the worker stamps from Journaling Essentials #4 and Speckled egg distress ink. I also added spots of gold liquid pearls around the mandala.

Here is the finished card again.
I used:
5x5" white card blank
Masking tape
Distress oxide ink - Kitsch Flamingo
Memento Black ink

Thanks for looking! I will be live at 8pm this evening over on the Bee Crafty Facebook Page. I would love to see you there!

More Collage Backgrounds

Hi there! The theme for our Bee Crafty Facebook challenge this month is Collage, so I made another card with a collage background. This one is more precisely cut with strips of paper the same width but different colours.

I began by arranging the strips diagonally over a 4.5 inch square of card. I stuck them down using matte medium.
When this was dry I trimmed the ends to make it square again.
I used black soot distress oxide ink to add some circles through the inkable big one.
I also added some texture paste through the dots dinkable.
Next I stamped the largest mandala from Doodle art Mandalas set #1 in Black Versafine Clair Ink.
I cut out the centre and coloured it using ecoline pens
on a scrap of black card I stamped the sentiment from small words in Versamark ink and embossed it using fine detail white embossing powder. I cut this into a banner shape.
Finally, I added the mandalas to the centre of the background using 3d glue gel. I mounted this onto a 5inch square card, adding the sentiment and some gold liquid pearls to finish.
Here's a close up of the centre.
I used:
5inch square white card
4.5inch square of card
Strips of card in coordinating colours
Distress oxide ink in black soot
Big ones inkable - Circles for circles
Texture paste - opaque matte
Ecoline pens
3d glue gel
Versamark ink
Black card
Gold Pearl liquid Pearls
