Texture

Hi There! We have a brand new theme of Texture for our challenge over on the Bee crafty Stamps group so I thought I would share how I made this textured background.
I began by covering a 10cm square of card in Matte Medium and scrunched up a piece of stamping tissue over the top before leaving it to dry

Once dry, I trimmed the edges and then sprayed with Distress oxide sprays.
When this was dry, I used a darker shade of distress oxide ink direct to the paper to bring out the texture some more.
I used the Bakewell Big one inkable to add a little coordinating ink to the base card.
On a separate piece of card, I stamped the Doodle Art Dragonfly in Black versafine Clair and cut it out.
I used Ecoline brush pens to colour it in.
I stuck the body of the dragonfly to the textured panel and added some glitter glue.
Here's the card once more...
along with a closeup of that texture. I have left it without a sentiment for now but will add an appropriate one when I use it.
I used:
Big ones Inkable - I used Bakewell
6x6" card
10 cm square of card
Distress oxide sprays - I used Peacock feathers and Squeezed lemonade
Distress oxide ink - I used Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner
Glitter Glue

I hope this has encouraged you to experiment a little with texture!

Vintage Vibes

Hi There! I am here with a vintage feel journal spread today. Here's how I did it.

I began by brayering a mix of Vintage photo, Victorian Velvet and Bundled sage Distress ink in patches across the page.

Next I used the Crackle and script background stamps along with the roman Numerals to stamp randomly around the page using the same inks.
Using the Set 2 Dinkables I added some Diamonds in bundled sage...
and some bricks in Vintage photo.
Next I stamped A Stitch in Time using Versafine Clair Portobello on the right page, adding some stamping of the outer edges around the left page.
on a seperate piece of card I smooshed the Bundled sage and Victorian Velvet ink before stamping it with a Stitch in Time once more, using Versafine Clair.
I cut out a few elements adding a little more Victorian Velvet ink...
and attached to the pages using Matte Medium.
I added wordy Stickers for the sentiment...
And added a few splatters of fossilized amber and Picked Raspberry Distress Spritz.
Here are the finished pages again.
I used:
A 5x5" notebook
Distress inks -I used Vintage Photo, Bundled Sage and Victorian Velvet
Roman Numerals (Discontinued)
Distress Spritz - I used Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry

Three little flowers

Hi There! I am here with a very simple card for you today, but perfect for our theme over in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook Group Challenge (where the theme is 3).

I began by blending 3 shades of distress oxide inks through the mandala inkable, top left and bottom right on a 6x6 white card.
Next I cut out 3 x 4cm squares of coordinating plain paper and stuck them down the middle of the card with matte medium.
On a piece of vellum/ parchment paper, I stamped one of the flowers from journaling Essentials #4. I stamped it three times and white embossed them.
I cut out the flowers and shaped a little with a ball tool before attaching to the card using foam pads.
Next I stamped the dotty line border around the corners top right and bottom left using one of the inks.
I then stamped the sentiment on a scrap of card using one of the inks.
Finally I added the sentiment to the card using more foam pads.

I used:
6x6 white card
Distress oxide inks - I used Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet
Vellum/ Parchment paper
Versamark ink pad
Coordinating paper cut into 4cm squares
foam pads

Hope you like it! I also hope you can join us for our challenge.

Love Bird journal page

Hi There! As it is February I thought I would have a little play with some hearts in my 5x5 notebook journal.
I began by cutting a piece of catalyst card to fit the page, rounding the corners and sticking it down.

Next, I used the same design of catalyst card but in greyscale to cut a heart from. I matched it up to the design and drew through the 4" easy frame heart inkable.
Once I had cut out the heart, I sponged some uncharted Mariner around the heart and around the edge of the page.
Using a blue pen from the gellyroll moonlight pen set, I added some hearts through the dinkable at the top of the page.
I stuck down the greyscale heart, matching up the papers and added some faux stitching and highlights with the blue and white gellyroll pens.
On a scrap of white card I stamped the words love and you from Mixed Messages #3 in versafine clair inks. I also stamped a small bird from Journaling essentials #6, cutting them all out.
Finally, I added them to the page using matte medium and shaded a little pencil around love on the greyscale heart.
Here is a look at the finished page again alongside the one opposite that I completed in my facebook live last week. you can find it here.

I used:
Catalyst Cards set #1 A5 in both Greyscale and full colour
Versafine Clair ink - I used Warm Breeze and Paradise
Coordinating distress oxide ink - I used uncharted Mariner
Pencil for shading.

Three little Birds

Hi There! We have a brand new challenge over on the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook group where the theme is 'three'. Here is a little inspiration as to how it could be interpreted.

I began by smooshing 3 colours of Distress oxide onto a DL sized piece of mixed media paper. I dried it then added splatters of the same inks across all three colours
Next I stamped a set of leaves (from Journaling essentials #2) in each colour onto the corresponding area of the same colour.
Using the 3 'rainbow' stamp from Journaling essentials #5 and the small circle, I added more stamping to the background (in sets of 3). I also sponged a little of the Mermaid Lagoon ink around the edge of the background.
On a separate piece of card I stamped the 3 birds from Journaling essentials #6 and cut them out.
I also stamped the sentiment from Ticker Tape #1 in summer breeze versafine Clair
Finally I added the panel to a DL sized card, attaching the birds and sentiment with foam pads.

I used:
Journaling Essentials stamps  - I used set #2, #5 and #6
Distress oxide inks - I used Picked Raspberry, mustard seed and Mermaid lagoon
Versafine Clair inks - I used Charming Pink, Warm Breeze and Golden Meadow.
mixed media paper
Scrap of white card
foam pads

There is so much fun to be had using the inspiration of the number 3, and no matter how few supplies you may have, it is still possible to join in! Looking forward to seeing lots of entries!

Same but different

Hi There! Ever since Bev and Sam brought out the full colour and Greyscale catalyst cards, I've been meaning to have a go at something like this journal spread. Here's what I did.
I began by putting the same design of paper on opposite pages of my journal, one in greyscale and one in full colour.

Once this was stuck to the page, I added some black soot distress oxide through a D'inkable in the same place on each side.
On a separate piece of card I stamped the Doodle Art gerbera and two butterflies, cutting the gerbera in half. I coloured in one pair with ecoline pens to match the background.
Just inking the centre of the butterfly I added the antennae and body to the pages, making sure there was enough room for the wings to lay flat.
I added the coloured flower and butterfly to the greyscale page and the white to the colour page. I also stamped the worker stamp a couple of times on each page in opposite corners.
I used white gel pen to add highlights to the coloured butterfly and flower....
and gelly roll moonlight florescent pens to add to the white butterfly and flower.
Finally I added wordy stickers to both pages.
Here's another look at the finished pages.
I used:
Dinkable from Set 3
Wordy stickers (I used 2B)
Versafine Clair black ink
Ecoline brush pens
