Dragonfly Ripples

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I made this simple card today.

On a 6x4" plain white card blank I added some ink blended dots through a Dinkable from set 2 using Picked Raspberry Distress oxide ink.
I stamped a doodle Art mandala in Versafine Clair bali Blue ink in the opposite corners.
On a scrap of white card I stamped the Doodle Art Dragonfly in Memento ink and coloured it with Alcohol markers before cutting it out.
Next I added some of the yellow and green pen to the stamped mandalas.
I also added a few pink and white highlights to the Dragonfly with gellyroll moonlight pens.
on a separate piece of card I stamped the sentiment, cut it out and matted it onto a scrap of turquoise paper.
Finally I added both the sentiment and the Dragonfly to the front of the card using 3d foam pads.
I used:
Distress oxide ink in Picked Raspberry
Black Memento ink
6x4 base card
Alcohol markers

Those mandalas make it ideal for entry into our Circles challenge over in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook Group so I do hope it has inspired you to have a go and enter!

Circles Galore!

Hi there! For the month of August, over on the Be Crafty Stamps facebook group we have a challenge theme of Circles. Here's how I made the card above which has oodles of them.

I began by blending ink from my blending brushes in a rainbow around the 6x6 inkable, Swirling circles. There was enough left over ink on my brushes to not need to ink them up again.
Next I used the doodle Art mandala stamps to stamp over the inked background in Versafine Clair Desert sand ink.

I also used some small circular stamps from Journaling essentials #3 to fill in the gaps amongst the mandala stamps.

On a separate piece of card I stamped the Doodle art Dandedaisy in Black versafine Clair ink.

I coloured it using ecoline pens and cut it out.

Using 3d foam pads I attached it to the background panel, along with a sentiment and added the whole thing to the front of a 6x6 white card blank.
Here is the finished card again.
I used:
Versafine Clair ink in Desert sand and Black
Ecoline pens
6x6 white card
5.5x5.5 card panel
Distress oxide inks (already on my brushes, but most likely Lumberjack Plaid, Spiced marmalade, mustard seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock feathers, blueprint sketch and wilted violet)

I hope this has given you the inspiration to look through your stamps and inkables for circles and have a go at entering the challenge!

Be Authentic Journal page

Hi There! Thought I would share how I made this Journal page with you today.

I began by painting the two pages with Dylusions paints in Peony Blush, Laidback Lilac and Blue Lagoon.

Once this was dry I used a sharpie and a white gel pen to add borders to the stripes on the left hand page.
I stamped the leaves onto the Right hand page using versafine clair black ink.
In the stripes, I also stamped some of the circular worker stamps in the same ink.
Next, I used more of the worker stamps, but stamped these in lost shadow Distress oxide ink on both pages.

I used the sharpie and the white gel pen to add the words, before stamping around both pages using Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink.
Here's a final look at both pages again.
I used:
Journaling essentials #4
6" square Kraft Journal
Dylusions paints - I used Peony Blush, Laidback Lilac and Blue Lagoon
Black Sharpie pen
White gel pen
Distress oxide ink -I used Lost shadow and Wilted violet
Black versafine clair ink

Speak Your Truth Journal page

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I made this journal spread today.

I began by blending Distress oxide ink in wavy lines across the pages. This page had had some matte medium and tissue paper applied to the centre where the book was falling apart a little.
Next I inked up the Dinkable with Black soot, sprayed with water and pressed onto the pages 3 times.
I used the same inks to colour a seperate piece of paper .
I stamped the Doodle Art Gerbera large flower onto this and cut it out.
On a scrap of the remaining paper I also stamped the small gerbera and cut that out too.
I stamped a leaf from Journaling essentials #3 onto a scrap of white paper several times and cut those out too.
using some of the other stamps from the set I added stamping around the page. I added the large flower and 5 leaves to the right page using matte medium.
I found a sentiment to add to the left page on a transparency sheet and added it using matte medium again.
Finally I added a few white splatters with my posca, stuck the small flower in the bottom left corner with the remaining leaves and added white highlights to both flowers using a gel pen.

I used
5x5" square notebook
Distress oxide ink in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserve, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Peacock feathers and Black soot
Black versafine Clair ink
White gel pen
White Posca pen
Matte Medium

There's only a little over a week left to enter the Vintage Challenge on the Bee Craft stamps group on Facebook. I do hope a few more people can find the time to enter.
I will be live this evening on the Bee Crafty Facebook page at 8pm with more vintage inspiration.

You are Strong Journal Spread

Hi There! I thought I would share a journal spread using the A5 Catalyst Collage papers today. Here's how it came together.

I began by tearing the paper from the A5 Painted Gaze set to fit on my 5x5" journal page.
Next, I sponged Distress oxide inks in Wild Honey and Antique Linen across both pages.
Using Picked Raspberry and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink, I  stamped some of the Journal Art Elements 3 circles around the page.
I also added some ink blended circles using a dinkable and the same pink ink.
Now this background was prepared I added the collage paper to it using matte medium.
The edges needed to be disguised a little so I added more stamping using the Journal Art Elements 3 and the Doodle Art Blooming blooms stamp sets.
Once I was happy with the extra stamping, I used the Incredible Words stamp set to add some words in versafine Clair ink. I knew I had see the ampersand (and sign) somewhere so set about thinking where 😆
On a separate piece of paper, I stamped some of the larger flowers from the blooming blooms set using Versafine Clair ink. I coloured them using coordinating Ecoline pens and a damp paint brush, before cutting them out.
Finally, I remembered the Ampersand was part of the typewriter Alpha set, and added that to the page along with the extra flowers.
I used:
Catalyst collage papers - A5 Painted gaze
Dinkables Set 3
Distress Oxide inks - I used Wild Honey, Antique Linen, Picked Raspberry and Uncharted Mariner.
Black Versafine Clair ink
Ecoline pens
Matte Medium

Vintage Card

Hi There! With our Challenge theme on the Bee Crafty Facebook group being Vintage I thought I would show you how I created this vintage style card.

I began by blending Vintage Photo Distress ink across a piece of card measuring  4x4" .
Next I randomly stamped patches of the Crackle stamp in Tea Dye distress ink.
I also used the Tea Dye ink to add some shading using the distressed diamonds dinkable.
After that I added some stamped leaves in the same colour.
I decided that the background needed some contrasting colour, so added some stamping using Bundled sage and the Journal Art Elements #3 stamp set.
on a separate piece of card I stamped the large Dandedaisy using Pinecone Versafine clair ink
I coloured it using washable pens and a wet paint brush and cut it out.
I found a scrap of card that was blended with vintage photo ink, and stamped the sentiment using the Versafine Clair ink on to it, before cutting it out.
Finally I added the background to an ivory deckle edged card, then added the flower and sentiment using 3d foam pads.

I used:
5x5" deckle edged card
4x4" piece of white card
Distress ink in Vintage photo, Tea Dye and Bundled Sage
Watercolour medium (I used washable pens)
versafine clair ink (I used Pinecone)

Hope this inspired you enough to have a go at this month's challenge!
