Black, White and one other colour

Hi There! We have a new Challenge starting tomorrow over in the Bee Crafty Facebook group, so I thought I would use today's blog post to make something to fit the theme. There is possibly a little more white space than I am used to, and I will try and fight the urge to add some splatters or a few sequins before the end of the post! 😂

Here is how I put it together.

I began by blending some Peacock Feathers ink through the tag inkable. I used distress oxide but Distress ink would be just as good.

Next I used versamark ink to stamp the circles and emboss using white embossing powder on a scrap of black card, which I cut out.

I used the lines stamps from the same set to add a line across the card about a third of the way up then added more down the left hand side.

Next I stamped the tape measure from the stitched borders onto a scrap of white card twice and cut out. I then cut the strips, one under the ten and one under the seven.
I used 3d glue to attach these elements to the base card.
Next I cut two small nesting circles from black and white card.
I stamped the butterfly onto the circle and also onto a scrap of card and painted both using Peacock Distress ink (again, distress oxide ink could be used for this purpose). I cut out the second butterfly and placed over the first using 3d glue.

Finally I stamped the sentiment using versafine clair ink.
Here is the finished card once more.
I used:
6x6 square white card blank

Bee Crafty Samples for the Craft Store

Hi There! Did you see Bee Crafty's Bev on the Craft Store last week with the new tag inkables?  They are sooooo cool! I have loved playing with them and still have them out on my desk! Here are the samples I made.  First up is a card where I used them to emboss through using speckled egg embossing glaze.

Next I used them to add distress oxide ink to a smooshed background...
And here I used them to add texture paste then dry brushed dylusions shimmer paint over them and the pop out mdf elements.

I also used them to add texture paste once more to an mdf arch plaque.
For the cover of this notebook I used them over a gelli print.
As well as the samples above I made a bag using calico.  I painted the fabric with gesso and Dylusions paint, stencilling and stamping it with the products that were on the show.
I also used gelli print papers to create this mini book featuring the Dragonfly stamps

You can find the Tag inkables here

Facebook live Earrings for Crafty Individuals

Hi There!

Last week I was asked by Jean of Crafty Individuals to step in and do her facebook live on Wednesday. It was a pleasure to help out and I made some shrink plastic earrings. You can watch the video on the Crafty Individuals Shop facebook page here:

Crafty Individuals Facebook live from Wednesday 12th January 2022

The Stamp I used can be found here

I did a test to see if the size would be suitable first

I have made a few pairs of Earrings using Crafty Individuals stamps over the past couple of years....

I have discovered that there are some lovely starter kits on Amazon if you haven't done anything like this before, that aren't too expensive.

All of Jean's lives can be found here on the facebook page - If you are stuck for inspiration or mojo, it is a great place to start x

A Vintage tag

Hi there! I have made another tag this week, and this time I have gone for a vintage vibe. Here is how I made it.

I began with a Dina Wakely size 10 mixed media tag. (I cut 2 cm from the bottom as I intend adding it to a journal page later.)

I used a blending brush to apply distress oxide inks over the whole tag.
I splattered water and sprayed a little Distress oxide spray in wild honey across the tag.
When it was dry I used the metalwork alpha 6x6 inkable to add the numbers top and bottom.
I stamped the dotty borders around the tag,

then added the smaller stamp from the ledger measure down the left side.
I stamped the pocket watch stamp (no longer available, but there is a pocket watch a little smaller that you could stamp then cut out on the other Ledger measure stamp) onto a book page using versafine clair pinecone ink . I blended a little distress oxide ink on it to age it and cut it out.

Using collage medium, I stuck it to the tag and left it to dry.
I stamped the Time sentiment in versafine clair ink onto a scrap of Dina Wakely collage paper and cut it out.
I worked out where I wanted to place each part of the sentiment before sticking it down with more collage medium.
Here is the finished tag with a gold mat and some lace and twine added.
This is what I used:
Pocketwatch stamp
Versafine Clair ink in Pinecone
Book page

Tomorrow, Bev and Sam are on The Craft Store at 1pm with some gorgeous new tag inkables that are a Must-have! Here is a sneaky peek at one of the samples.

I will be doing a Try it out Tuesday takeover Facebook Live tomorrow evening at 8pm over on the Bee Crafty Facebook page. Hope you can join me!
Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments. They are very much appreciated.

A swallow tag

Hi There! As the theme for this month's challenge over in the Bee Crafty Facebook group is tags, I thought I would make a tag this week.
I began by cutting the biggest tag from mixed media card using the Bee Crafty Dies.

Next I sprayed it with Dylusions sprays and left it to dry.
Once it was dry I used the dotty dinkable and black soot oxide ink to add some stencilling and also brushed a little ink around the edge of the tag.

I stamped some of the coffee stain rings and numbers using versafine clair ink over the tag
on a seperate piece of card I stamped the swallow stamp and die cut it
I painted it using distress inks.
I added some white highlights on the tag using a white posca pen and then stamped some of the small words too.

Once it was dry I added the swallow to the tag with 3d glue, along with a little black thread under the swallow and some fibres to the tag top.
Here is the finished tag.

I used:
Versafine clair in Warm breeze and nocturne
Thread

As Jane said in her live last week, tags are a great way of experimenting and just having a go when mojo is lacking. It is equally easy to do this sort of background a little larger and use it on a card or a journal page.
