Seahorse samples from Crafty Individuals

Hi there!  I am very much playing catch-up at the moment. I realised that although I've shared my last lot of Crafty Individuals samples on both Instagram and Facebook, I'd prepared the post but not published it here. I need to put that right, so prepare yourself for a few little trips to the Seaside!  Here are a some of the most recently released stamps from Crafty Individuals. There are Beautiful Seahorses designed by Ellie Mulligan, as well as some using the older stamp set CI-272. You can find all of Ellie's stamps on the website here

One of my lockdown projects was to organise and use some older stash, and here is a brooch made with a piece of stamp board and an old broken necklace.

There will be more seaside-themed creations very soon. I will also say that you should be saving up those pennies as the next release from Crafty Individuals is so exciting and absolutely wonderful! More details of that soon too!

Thanks for looking!

A Pendant

I have been playing with some stampboard to make a pendant. I bought the chord, beads and bail from Silver Orchid Beads at Doncaster. For the stampboard I used all Inkylicious stamps.
I began by dusting the stampboard with Peach Bellini Adirondack ink. I stamped it with the worn paint background in Lettuce. I then inked up the fern stamp with  both Versamark and then Lettuce, after which I covered it in clear embossing powder, tapped off the excess and heated it. Stampboard is such fun to play with. I think I am going to make a few more. Thanks for looking!

Dad's birthday

After the four seasons card/ book I made for my dad's eightieth Birthday last year I wasn't sure what to do this year. Then Lynne K posted her entry for Allsorts, and, knowing we were going to meet up this weekend I asked her if I could borrow her design and her stamps! Lovely lady that she is she said yes, so here is the finished article. I used adirondack inks and Versafine on stampboard. Stamps are from stampscapes, Crafty Individuals, Clarity stamps and craftwork cards. Thanks Lynne. I know he will love it!
I'm off to prepare neeps and tatties to go with our Haggis - a day early, but we are celebrating Burn's Night tonight with some friends.

Oooh, that's better

After five days away from my craft table except for marking books at it, I needed to spend most of last night sat at it making cards! I'm now feeling very relaxed and quite happy with my creations. The first of my cards uses a lovely penny black stamp I bought last year. I bought it with Steve in mind as he loves ducks!
The second and third are variations on cards I have made already this year. The top one uses another Lavinia stamps tree, and the next uses stampin' up 'lovely as a tree' and the Nellie Snellen snowman. My final card from last night uses a Stamporium stamp from one of their A4 rubber sheets. I'm not sure if it is still available or not, but I love it's simplicity. It works well embossed in clear embossing powder on black and then painted with Blonde Moments pearl pigments.

It wasn't going to be a christmas card...

A few weeks ago I was having a bit of a play with some stampboard, which I hadn't made into a card. Scraping away the ink from the surface made a really good snow effect, and it turned into a christmas scene. A bit of glitter glue round the edge and a few scratched stars finished it off. So this is the finished article - an unintentional christmas card! The stamp is another from Lavinia stamps and the background paper is a left over from last year - Dovecraft I think. I am trying to use up some of the vast amounts of background papers I have and not buy any for a while. Some are so lovely I don't want to spoil them by using them (like all of those produced by Crafty individuals)! Some are a bit garish and retro, and most magazines seems to be using something similar. I'm not even sure why I bought them! Maybe we ought to have a challenge - find the piece of backing paper you own that you dislike the most and turn it into a card.
If you are up for the challenge, email me your pics and I will put them on my blog - might even find some blog candy for a winner!
