It's a Bugs life!

The theme at Tuesday Taggers this week is 'Bugs' and is sponsored by the Craft Barn. I've made two cards this week. The first uses Kay Carley's  Funky Frames (Aspects of Design), coloured in with Sakura Stardust pens and a water brush. It's very much in the style of Kay. I love her use of colour and the way she uses the stamps to create backgrounds.

For my second card I used two stamps. The 'lazy daisies' are by Penny Black and the 'garden ladybug' by Hero arts. I coloured both in with promarkers and added a bit of stickles to the flowers and diamond glaze to the ladybirds.  Pop over to Tueday Taggers and take a look at some of the wonderful creations my talented teamies have come up with this week.

Thanks for looking!

Another card from my messy session

Just a quick post to share with you a card I made using some more of the inky papers I made last week. This uses Aspects of design sheet Funky frames, available from the Stamp Man. I added a bit of Faux stitching round the edges. I also added a few dots of sakura stardust pens to the main image. I was trying to be a bit more inventive with them, and I'm not sure it worked!
Just a quick update that my niece has tracked down a housemate who backed up her laptop onto his computer six months ago and still has her photos. Also the Antarctica ones are still on the University server, so she will be able to get most of them back. things are looking quite positive for her thesis too. Thank you so much for all your kind words.

Butterflies

I bought the Aspects of Design 'Daisy Flutters' sheet on the way back from holiday a couple of years ago. We popped in to The Stampman and I bought quite a lot of stash... Steve claims it was half the shop. Anyway, it has been well used. I thought I would show you a few of the cards I have made using the butterflies on it. The first has a vellum overlay stamped with daisies that were embossed with a moonglow embossing powder - not sure which one. I used my tombow pens to colour the butterfly and added a few flat backed pearls.
For the second I stamped the base card with versamark and applied chalk in diagonal sweeps across the card. The square behind the butterfly was done with H2Os, with antenna made out of wire.
This one had layers of stamped acetate, torn vellum and silver embossed butterflies coloured with Tombow pens.

I think the fourth one is pretty self explanatory, so I won't bore you with the details. Finally I used starburst stains (Victorian Bouquet) on some scrunched and some flat paper, layering with stamped acetate and pearlescent card.
