What's up Buttercup?

Hi There! I am here with an art journal spread today. Here's how it came together.

I began by adding some catalyst collage papers to the two sides using matte medium.
Next, I added some torn book pages to the gaps in between.
Once this was dry, I blended Distress oxide inks around the page to colour the base layer.
I also blended some Distress Oxide ink through a tag inkable in a couple of pages.
Using the same colours of ink, I added some stamping using the Bee Crafty Journaling essentials #9 stamp set.
On a separate piece of paper I stamped the flowers from Journaling Essentials #5, coloured them with ecoline pens and cut them out.
I added these to the pages using matte medium, along with a couple of wordy stickers
Finally I added a few highlights using Gelly Roll Moonlight pens.
Here are the finished pages again.
I used:
Wordy Stickers - I used 3B
Book pages
Distress Oxide inks - I used Vintage photo, Antique Linen and Fossilized Amber
Ecoline pens
Black Versafine Clair ink

This is my last chance to remind you that you have until Saturday to enter the Floral challenge over on the Bee Crafty Stamps Group on Facebook, so I hope you will enter!

Perfect is an illusion

Hi There! I have another journal page for you today. Here's how it came together.

I used a piece of A5 Greyscale Catalyst card from set one and smooshed it with Abandoned Coral and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink.
When this was dry I added some Prize Ribbon Distress oxide ink through the Bakewell Big one inkable with a blending brush.
Using the worker stamps from the Doodle Art Dragonfly stamp set I added some stamping using the same inks.
I also used the same inks to colour a dragonfly. I then cut it out and added some white pen highlights.
I added the dragonfly and a wordy sticker to the page using matte medium, along with faux stitching and more white pen to the background.
Here is the finished page once more.
I used:
Wordy stickers - I used 2B
Distress oxide inks - I used Abandoned Coral, Prize Ribbon and Uncharted Mariner
5x5" notebook/journal
White Posca Pen
Matte Medium

There are still a couple of weeks to enter the challenge over in the Bee Crafty Facebook group where the theme is Floral. Don't forget to check out the Bee crafty Palette for this week too!

Shine!

Hi There! I am here with another simple journal page sharing this week's Bee Crafty Palette. If you are stuck for inspiration it's a great starting point and I love this combination!

I began by sponging Candied Apple, Cracked Pistachio and Wild Honey Distress oxide inks across the page.
Next, I took a Tag inkable and sprayed it with water, laid it over the coloured page, and after a few seconds, lifted it and mopped the excess water with a cloth.
Once this was dry, I added a little stamping using the same inks and Journaling Essentials #9 stamp set. I also sponged the edges of the page with the festive berries.
I added more stamping, this time using Versafine Clair black ink.
On a separate piece of card, I stamped and fussy cut the Doodle Art Dragonfly using black ink.
I added this to the page, along with a wordy Sticker and some faux stitching with a white Posca pen.
Here is the finished page once more....
....and here it is next to the page from last week. I love how similar elements have produced two such contrasting pages!
I used:
Distress Oxide inks - I used Candied Apple, Cracked Pistachio and Wild Honey
Versafine Clair ink - I used Black
Posca/ white gel pen
5x5" journal/ sketckbook

A new Colour Palette

Hi There! Happy New Year! Over on the Bee Crafty Facebook Group, Bev is giving us some stunning colour palettes to play around with for inspiration. Thought I would join in the fun AND make some Floral inspiration for the challenge at the same time. Here's how it came together

I began by blending inks across a page in my 5x5 journal. I used Victorian Velvet, Milled lavender and wilted violet Distress inks.
Next I used a tag inkable to add some Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink to the page.
On a separate piece of card I stamped and cut out the flower from Journaling Essentials #9, colouring it with coloured pencils.
Using the same stamp set I added more stamping in Monarch and Lilac Bloom Versafine Clair ink.

Finally I added the flower and a couple of wordy Stickers to the page with Matte Medium, along with some faux stitching with the coloured pencil and a white gel pen.
Here's the finished page again.
I used:
Wordy Stickers - I used 3B
Distress Oxide ink - I used Saltwater Taffy
Distress Inks - I used Wilted Violet, Milled Lavender and Victorian Velvet
Versafine Clair ink - I used Monarch and Lilac Blooms
Matte Medium
Coloured pencils
White gel pen

I have really enjoyed playing with some colours that I wouldn't normally use.
