More things with wings inspiration

Hi there! Here's a clean and simple card I made yesterday and a step by step tutorial to make it.

I began by adding masking tape to two sides of a 14cm square of white card. I blended a light dusting of Mermaid lagoon Distress ink to the lower left corner.
Next I blended some Pine Cone Distress ink through the Jungle Leaves Big one inkable.
I stamped the Butterfly in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and removed the masking tape.
On a piece of Catalyst card, I stamped the butterfly again. I cut it out and added a few highlights using a yellow gelly roll moonlight pen.
I added this to the background along with a wordy sticker before adding a black border to the panel using a sharpie pen. Finally I attached the panel to a 15cm square white card.
I used:
Distress ink - Mermaid Lagoon and Pine Needles
Black Sharpie pen

There is a week left to get your entry in to the Challenge over in the Bee Crafty stamps Facebook group, so I hope this inspiration helps. Also, I will be live this evening on the Bee Crafty Facebook Page at 8pm, so I hope you will join me.

A super quick journal page

Hi There! I am here with a super quick journal page today as I was busy at the weekend with a karate tournament. I found this cute 12cm square Talens notebook and it had to become a journal for super quick mini projects!

I began by cutting a piece of A5 Catalyst card to fit the page, rounding the corners to leave a narrow border. I attached it using Matte Medium.

Next I used a tag inkable from set 5 to add some black soot Distress oxide to the middle of the page before setting it aside to dry

I stamped the doodle Art Dragonfly in Black Versafine Clair onto mixed media card and cut it out. I coloured it using coordinating colours of ecoline markers and added a few white highlights with a white gel pen
Using Matte Medium I added the dragonfly to the page, sticking it down just by the head and body, leaving the wings free.
Finally I added wordy stickers to finish the page.
I used:
Ecoline pens
White gel pen
Black soot distress oxide ink
Black Versafine Clair

This was super quick and easy and something similar would be a perfect entry for the challenge this month over in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook group. I hope you can join us!
As I said earlier, it was a very busy weekend, but I was delighted and a little shocked to come away with a silver medal for Team Kumite and a Double Gold for individual Kata and Kumite. Here's a photo of the over 55s medal winners. Region 30 bagged over half of the medals on offer and I was very proud of all of my students that entered.

Things with wings

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I made this card today. The theme for our Challenge over in the Bee Crafty Stamps group on facebook is 'things with wings' so this card is a little inspiration for you.
I began by blending distress inks around the left and lower edges of a 14cm square piece of smooth card.

Next I used the Blueprint sketch ink through a dinkable, leaving a little white space.
I stamped the dragonfly in Black Versafine Clair ink and watercoloured it.
Using the gellyroll moonlight pens, I added a little detail to the dragonfly once dry.
I stamped the ticker tape sentiment in Bali Blue ink on a scrap of white card.
Finally I added the card panel to the front of a white card then added the sentiment and dragonfly using matte medium.
I used:
Distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Wilted violet and Blueprint Sketch
Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne and Bali Blue

I do hope you will be able to join in with the challenge this month!

Smile Sunshine!

Hi There! For my blog post this week I thought I would try and use some pastel colours....

I began by stamping the Doodle Art sunflower in Memento ink then coloured it using Alcohol markers
On a 6x4 piece of mixed media card I blended Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass Distress oxide.
I placed the Circles 1 Big ones inkable over the inky background and blended a little Picked Raspberry Distress oxide in through it.
I removed the inkable and used the same ink to stamp some of the stamps from Journaling Essentials #3 in the circles and around the edges.
I matted and layered the background onto a 5x7" card, then added the sunflower and a wordy sticker sentiment on foam pads.
Here is the finished card again, which turned out a lot less pastel than I intended!
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Spun sugar and Picked Raspberry
Memento Tuxedo black ink
Alcohol markers
5x7 card
6x4 piece of mixed media card
Coordinating card for matting and layering
Foam pads

These colours are not my usual go to colours, but I love the way it turned out! There is a brand new challenge over on the Bee Crafty Facebook group where the theme is 'Things with Wings'. I do hope you will come and join in the fun!
