A set of Artist Trading Cards

Hi There! I have been having a bit of fun making Artist Trading Cards this weekend. Here is how I made them.

I began by cutting myself 3 cards from mixed media card measuring 2.5" x3.5"
Next I smooshed some distress oxide inks on to them.
Once dry, I stamped them using the crackle background in Peacock Feathers ink
When this was dry, I wiped the cards with an anti static cloth, then masked off two thirds of the card, before stamping with versafine ink and adding gold embossing powder. This was done with the Asemic writing stamp.
Here is a close up of the gold embossing once heated.
Next I stamped the coffee bean border from Freehand Borders #2 in Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink
I used the same ink to stamp the leaves from Journaling essentials #2 on to a scrap of white card before fussy cutting them.
On a scrap of teal coloured card I stamped three sentiments from Mixed Messages #3 and heat embossed in white. I attached the leaves, the sentiments and some coordinating sequins to the three backgrounds using matte medium. I also added a border with a brown marker. Here they are:

I used:
ATCs cut from mixed media card
Distress oxide inks in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Hickory Smoke and Ground Espresso
Versamark ink for embossing
Brown marker pen
Sequins

Bev will be live tonight at 8pm on the Bee Crafty Facebook page and I will be live tomorrow at the same time. I hope you can join us!

A Curious Dragonfly

Hi There! I have almost finished my Dylusions mini journal and wanted to cover up the paint swatches I had done on the last page. This is the result. It was super quick and easy and would look equally good on a card. This is what I did.

I began by cutting a piece of Catalyst paper (Set 2) to fit the page. I used matte medium to stick it down and rounded the corners with a pair of scissors.
I sponged a little prize ribbon distress oxide around the edges and then added the word Curious from the Spontaneous Words transparencies with matte medium.
On a scrap of white card I stamped the Dragonfly and the word from the dragonfly set. I coloured them with coloured pencils and cut them out using the matching dies.
Finally I attached them to the page using matte medium.
Here is the finished page again.

I used:
Dragonfly dies (also available as a bundle)
Coloured pencils

Hope this gives you a little inspiration for this months challenge in the facebook group, where the theme is quick cards. Thanks for looking!

The Time is now

Here's a relatively quick card if you discount the drying time, using the gorgeous Stitch in Time stamp.

I began by stamping the Stitch in Time in versafine Clair Twilight onto mixed media paper, and embossing with clear embossing powder.
I sprayed the paper with water and then dripped ecoline inks on to it, spraying a little more water to help it spread. This could be done with dylusion sprays, reinkers, watercolours or brushos too.
I used kitchen roll to blot it a little and left to dry.
I stamped the sentiment in Monarch versafine clair onto a scrap of white card and cut it out.
I matted and layered the dry panel onto the 5x7" card, adding the sentiment on foam pads.
Here is the finished card again.
I used:
5x7" card
Versafine clair ink in Twilight and Monarch
Ecoline inks (or substitute Dylusions sprays dripped on) I used Sky Blue. Magenta and Ultramarine Violet
Foam pads

A Quick card

Hi There! thought I would show you how I made this quick card today!

I began by taping the outie of Mandala inkable #4 to a 6x6 card, then blending distress ink into the centre. I used Twisted citron in the middle, then peacock feathers and wilted violet around the outside.
Next I popped the mandala in and blended black soot ink through it.
I removed the inkable and stamped the bird and words from Sketchy Birds into the centre.
Using a grey pencil crayon I added a little shading around the bird.
Here is the finished card again. Perfect for a teacher at the end of term 😉
I used:
6x6 card blank
Distress inks in Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet and Black Soot
Grey Colouring Pencil
