April DT Samples for Bee Crafty

Hi There! On Monday Bev and Sam took some gorgeous new stamps to Hobby Maker. Before I show you the samples I made with them, here are links to the new stamps and the d'inkables we used.

Mixed Messages #2

Mixed Messages #3

A Stitch in Time

Butterfly Stitch

Bundle Offer

D’Inkables

My first sample was a little book made with a single sheet of A3 black card. I painted panels using dylusions shimmer paints and added some gesso and stamping

The mixed messages stamp sets are great for creating backgrounds as well as sentiments.

My next card was made using a heart D'inkable, pressed onto Distress Oxide ink pad, then spritzed and laid onto the card. The 'Love' sentiment was also stamped in distress oxide inks
For the next card I used chalk effect paint to create a background. Once this was dry I stamped the Butterfly stitch stamp and embossed with copper embossing powder, then stamped the word hope with Versamark ink and embossed using Distress Embossing Glaze in Salvaged Patina.
For this easel card I stamped Stitch in Time onto a piece of card that had been used to mop up some ink left on the circles dinkable. It was embossed in Villainous potion embossing glaze.
This card was a simple water colour of the Stitched butterfly stamp. The base card was stamped around the edges using the top corner of a Stitch in time.
Using coated cardstock for this sample I blended a background of distress ink in wild honey, crackling campfire and uncharted Mariner. I lifted ink from the clock face and using D'inkables sprayed with water
This sample was coloured using blending brushes and distress ink, then coloured pencils on parts of the image.
Finally I used D'inkables to create a background using vintag photo and aged mahogany distress oxides. I stamped the Stitch in time then went over the clock with an embossing dauber and triple embossed it.

Butterflies galore!

Hi There! Thought I would do a journal spread in my black journal for a change, especially with a few new things to play with. Here is how I did it.

I began by drawing around the 6" and 4" butterfly inkable easy frames on the black journal page in white gelly roll pen and on the catalyst paper in black. I cut out the butterfly shapes from the catalyst paper and tore a piece to add to the left hand page.
I stuck these to the page using matte medium.
I added a few spots of coordinating shimmer paint with my finger.
Once this was dry, I used white ink to stamp some of the Journaling Essentials sets 2 and 3 around the page.
I then added a few spots of London Blue shimmer paint in the spaces and set the page aside to dry.
On a scrap of card, I used the shimmer paints to add some colour. I let this dry then heat embossed the Doodle Art butterfly in black.

I cut this out then added it to the page using Distress Collage medium.
Finally I added some faux stitching and accents with Gelly Roll moonlight pens.
Here is the page again. I still can't decide whether to put a sentiment on it, lol. Might add one of the new ones that are out on Monday.

Inspired by Bev

Hi There! I couldn't wait to play with the latest journaling essentials stamps, so I used them on this card for my daughter's birthday. I also wanted to create a card a bit like the ones that Bev did in this live

I began by smooshing Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide onto a 14cm square of mixed media card.

Next I used the Andalucian Big One inkable to blend some more ink on to the background.
I used the same inks, plus some black Versafine Clair to add stamping to the background.

Next I stamped a sketchy bird and some sketchy flowers onto a scrap of white card and cut them out.
I coloured the blue tit with coloured pencils but left the flowers white.
I used a black sharpie to add a border to the panel then stuck it to a 15cm square card blank. I added the flowers and bird to the corner of the card using foam pads, and added a few drops of platinum liquid pearls. I also added some glossy accents to the eye and the beak.
Here is the finished card again.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Peacock Feathers and Wilted violet
Coloured pencils
Platinum Liquid Pearls
Foam pads

A simple ladybird card

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I made this card today.

I began by smooshing memento ink (anything water based can be smooshed) onto a piece of mixed media card.
I used the same ink to stamp the background using Journaling essentials 1.
I stamped some of the freehand borders 1 around the edge and across parts of the background. I also sponged some of the ink around the edges of the card
Next I stamped the Doodle Art Ladybird in black ink in the centre of the card and onto a scrap of white card. I coloured the wings of the ladybird using ecoline pens and attached to the one on the card using 3d glue.
Finally I added a wordy sticker sentiment along with some gelly roll moonlight neon pink highlights.
Here's the finished card.
I used:
Blank white 15x15cm card
Memento ink in Bahama Blue and Lilac Posies  (Distress ink or Distress oxides would also work)

Last Sunday I took part in a Northern Zone Karate tournament. I was an official for some events, judging kata and kumite and also helped to keep the paperwork in order on one of the rings. I entered Team Kata, individual kata and individual kumite (The latter two for over 50s) I was delighted to come away with 3 silver medals and our Nottingham team achieved amazing results! Here are a few photos from the day.

Journaling girl makes for Bee Crafty Journaling girls day

Hi There! Thought I would share the samples I made for Tuesday's Journaling girls day on Bee Crafty Facebook page. The journaling girls stamps are all here.  All of the lives are available still and will also be added to the YouTube channel very soon.   My first make has a background stamped with the Mixed Messages 1 stamp set in Blueprint Sketch, Uncharted Mariner and Salvaged Patina distress oxide inks.

I created a background for this journal spread in my Dylusions black journal, using dylusions shimmer paint, black and white gesso and white embossing powder
Here is an older journal spread using more shimmer paints and the Fern flourish Big one inkable
This background was created using Dina Wakley gloss sprays and the Bakewell Big ones inkable. I stamped some background elements from the journaling essentials set onto stamping tissue using versafine clair ink and added them using matte medium. I also used the Spontaneous Words transparencies
I made a collage background for this card, using an old book page and Catalyst papers set 2
This scrap of smooshed paper using Wild Honey and Mermaid Lagoon Distress oxide was the perfect background for Sam. This time I also used the brand new 'Speak your Truth' transparencies
This was the card I created during the facebook live - not quite identical to the one above, but almost! you can find it here
