More Challenge inspiration

Hi There! I am here with a journal page step-by-step tutorial for you today using Catalyst Collage papers and Journaling essentials stamps. Here's how it came together.

I began by cutting a piece of Catalyst collage paper to fit across the pages. I used collage medium to stick it down.
Once this was dry, I added distress oxide inks to the two panels either side of the paper.
Next I sprayed the tag inkable with water, laid it onto the inked areas and blotted with a piece of kitchen roll.
Once this was dry, I used Journaling Essentials set #9 and Black Versafine Clair to add stamping around the pages.
I added wordy stickers and some faux stitching with a gelly roll moonlight pen....
along with some sharpie pen to finish off.
Here is the finished page again.

I used:
Catalyst Collage papers - Painted Petals and Portraits A5
Distress Oxide inks - I used Faded Jeans, Abandoned Coral and Fossilized Amber
Black Versafine Clair ink
Sharpie

I am really happy with how these pages came together, but I am not totally sure they don't need a couple of flowers added on the right-hand page.
I will sleep on it and maybe add something extra another day.

Hope this has inspired you to enter the Bee Craft Stamps Facebook challenge this month where all we ask is you use one of the 9 sets of Journaling Essentials stamps or transparencies that you can find here

Journaling on index cards

Hi There! I am here with a couple of index cards for my blog post today. These are a great way to art journal in miniature without the expense of a purpose made journal. I used the Bee Crafty Palette for this week. I also used Journaling Essentials stamps so these are more inspiration for our challenge in the Bee Crafty Stamps facebook group.

I began by smooshing the index cards with distress inks. I used a piece of acetate to apply the inks with.

I used a couple of Dinkables to apply some Villainous Potion distress ink to the inked background.

Using Journaling Essentials sets #5 and #8, I used the prize ribbon and iced spruce to add some stamping to the background.

I chose focal images from the same stamp sets and stamped these in Black versafine clair onto the backgrounds.

I stamped the flowers again onto some white card, cut them out and coloured them using ecoline markers.
finally I added these along with some wordy stickers to the backgrounds. Some faux stitching using a gelly roll moonlight pen finished them off.
Here are each of the cards.

I used:
Index cards
Wordy stickers
Distress inks - I used iced spruce, Prize ribbon, Twisted citron, Villainous potion
Versafine Clair black ink
Ecoline markers

A little Hope

Hi There! Here's a journal spread, as inspiration to both the new challenge on Bee crafty Stamps Facebook group, and this week's Bee Crafty Palette. Here's how I put it together.

I began by blending patches of distress oxide inks around the page. I used Chipped Sapphire, Rustic Wilderness, Saltwater Taffy, Bundled sage and Old Paper.
Next, I sprayed a Dinkable from set 11 with water and laid it onto the inked pages for a few seconds, before mopping up the water using a clean cloth.
Once this was dry, I added some stamping using some of the worker stamps from the Journaling Essentials #9 Stamp Set. The theme for our challenge is to use Journaling Essentials Stamps.
On a separate piece of paper I stamped the large flower from the same set in Versafine Clair Blue Belle. I used a paintbrush and water to add colour using the same inkpads, and cut them out.
I also added a few highlights using gelly roll moonlight pens and a white posca.
I added some extra stamped elements from the same stamp set before positioning the flowers  and some wordy stickers with Matte Medium. Finally I added some white Faux stitching around the page and the sentiment.
I used:
Distress Oxide inks in Chipped Sapphire, Rustic Wilderness, Saltwater Taffy, Bundled Sage and Old Paper
Versafine Clair ink in Blue Belle
Posca Pen
5x5" notebook/ sketchbook/ journal

Our Challenge theme for February is Journaling Essentials and there are plenty of stamps to choose from in the Journaling Essentials range. I do hope you will join in.
