New Year, New Bird book

Good Morning! Each year I have a little notebook in which we record birds we see in the garden each month. I had forgotten to pick up a notebook but fortunately I found one that I had cast aside as I couldn't get the label off. I decided it would do but I could get creative with the cover.

Here it is before I started.
First I cut the white edges off one of the A6 catalyst cards. This one is from set 1
On a piece of white card I stamped the Doodle art rainbow bird and sunshine in Versafine Clair black ink .
I cut both out, leaving a small white border then painted them using Dina Wakley Gloss Drops, setting them aside to dry.
On a scrap of black card I stamped the sentiment and embossed in white. I trimmed this ready for adding to the notebook.
Finally I attached them all to the front of the notebook using Matte Medium. So much better don't you think?
I used:
A6 notebook
A6 Catalyst Card - I used set #1 full colour
Dina Wakley Gloss Drops - I used Gnarly, Radical, Bodacious and Stoked
Versamark ink
I chose these bright colours as the current theme on the Bee Crafty Facebook challenge is 'Vivid', and I think this definitely fits the bill. The prize is a £20 stamp voucher, so definitely worth a go! I certainly won't lose the book, lol.
Thanks for looking!

Hey, Sunshine!

Hi There! Thought I would share a super quick but colourful card with you that will brighten the dullest of days.

I began by blending 3 shades of distress oxides through the inkable on to an ivory deckle edged card.
On a piece of card, I stamped the Doodle Art rainbow bird in Black versafine clair and coloured it by painting with Dina Wakley gloss drops.
Next I die cut a circle from ivory card and stamped it with the circles stamp from Journal art Elements 3 using spiced marmalade distress oxide ink.
I attached this to the centre of the card using foam pads, adding the bird on the top. I added the sentiment in versafine clair ink.

Finally I added a few dayglow highlights using Gelly Roll moonlight pens.
Here is the finished card again.

I used:
6x6" ivory card blank
Distress oxide inks in Twisted citron, mustard seed and spiced marmalade

Today's January savers are the fabulous mdf journals that you can find here . I will be live on the Bee Crafty Facebook page at 8pm this evening, so I hope you can join me. Thanks for looking!

Bird Artist Trading Cards

Hi there! Thought I would show you how I made this trio of ATCs for my blog post this week.

I began by smooshing some distress inks onto 3 ATC blanks.

Once these were dry, I used the same inks to add some more ink through the tag inkables
Next I added some stamping to the backgrounds using Journaling essentials 2 and the same shades of distress ink
Setting the backgtrounds to one side I stamped the Birds onto some book paper using brown versafine clair ink.
I added a little shading using a brown colouring pencil
I stuck these birds to the backgrounds using Matte Medium. As the Kingfisher was too large to fit I cut off the tail
Once dry, I added sentiments from the same stamp sets
Finally I added a splatter or two of Tarnished Brass Distress stain.
Here are the finished ATCs again.
I used:
ATC blanks (Cards measuring 2.5x3.5 inches)
Distress inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Wild Honey and Gathered Twigs
Book paper
Brown colouring pencil

I will leave you with a photo of the Journal page I created during my live last Wednesday, also using the Rainbow Birds stamp set along with Mixed messages 4 and Journaling essentials 1
You can find the live here

Rainbow Birds and Mixed messages Samples

Hi There! I am here with my Bee Crafty samples for the brand new Doodle Art Rainbow Birds and Mixed Messages #4 that Bev launched during her Facebook Live on Tuesday. First up is one of the birds and a sentiment from the same set, teamed up with the big ones inkable Jungle Leaves and Freehand Borders #1
Next is a clean and simple one using the rainbow from Rainbow Birds and Lucky from mixed messages #4
My next card uses one stamp from each of the new sets and stamped onto the base card.
The background on this card was created with distress oxide inks and dinkables from sets 3, 6 and 8
For this card, I stamped and clear embossed the word happy then added distress oxide ink over the top. I sprinkled on water, blotted it and stamped the sun in orange ink.

Finally, I die cut a circle from an inky sprayed piece of paper. I added it to the front of a card, then stamped the leaves in versafine Clair and cut them out. The rainbow bird was stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured with ecoline pens and a waterbrush. The sentiment is from mixed messages #4.

They are gorgeous stamps and I can't seem to put them down!
