A page in my Kraft journal

Hi There! I have enjoyed a little play in my kraft journal using a variety of Bee Crafty stamps, inkables and catalyst papers. Here's how I did it.
I began by adding some catalyst paper to the right hand side of the page with matte medium.
Next I used the 4x4 easy frame star to add some white ink stars to the kraft part of the page.

I also added some partial stars in Black soot Distress oxide ink.
using the star D'inkable from set 1, I added some small stars using texture paste.

I stamped the stars in white ink around the page.
using versafine clair black ink I stamped the squares around the page.
On a separate scrap of card I stamped, cut out and coloured the flower and leaves.

I also stamped a sentiment and cut it out.
Finally I added all elements to the page with Matte medium and splattered a little Radical Gloss Drops to finish it.
I used:
Dina Wakely 6x6 Kraft Journal
White  ink
Distress oxide ink in black soot
Ecoline pens

I am hoping to have enough voice to go live over on the Bee Crafty Facebook page at 8pm this evening. Thanks for looking!

Lilies journal page

Hi There! I have just finished the last page in my journal, so I thought I would show you what I did with it.

I began by masking off the page to the left and spraying it with a selection of distress oxide sprays, once it was dry I removed the masking tape and sheet of paper
I fastened the Big one inkable to the page using bulldog clips and added distress crackle paste through the inkable. The inkable will need to be cleaned before the crackle paste dries.
once it was dry, I added some drops of brushed corduroy distress oxide spray and tarnished brass distress stain to the crackle paste, then left it to dry again.
I used the script background stamp without a skinny slim to add some vintage photo distress oxide ink around the lilies.
Next I used the same ink through a tag inkable from set 1 with a blending brush.
On a snippet of kraft card I stamped the sentiment from mixed messages 2, then cut it out.
I added this to the page using matte medium and added a few splatters of white Dina Wakely gloss spray.
I used
Distress oxide sprays in peacock feathers, salvaged patina, twisted citron, speckled egg and Brushed corduroy.
Vintage photo distress oxide ink
scrap of kraft card

I will be having a go at decorating the cover tomorrow evening over on the Bee crafty Facebook page.
On 30th September I will be teaching an online workshop using Bee Crafty products. This is in a private facebook group and can be viewed after the event as many times as you need it. Here's a little teaser

Vintage tulip journal page

Hi there! I had the urge to do a bit of a vintage collage the other day, so teamed it up with some old papers, fabric and lace to make a journal page. Here is how I did it.

I began by tearing some papers and sticking them as a patchwork onto a journal page using matte medium.
once this was dry I brushed over a coat of gesso and set aside to dry again.

on a piece of tea-stained calico I stamped the tulip using versafine clair grey ink.
I painted the tulip with derwent inktense blocks.
using the tag inkable I added some walnut stain distress ink to the gessoed page.
next I stamped some mandala circles in vintage photo distress ink on the fabric....
and onto the page.
I also added some of the ink around the frayed edge of the calico
I drew a rough rectangle slightly larger than the fabric panel in pumice stone distress crayon onto the page where I wanted the tulip to go, smudging it with my finger.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of collage paper.
finally I added the tulip panel, a strip of braid and the sentiment to the page using matte medium
And here is the finished page. I rubbed a little gold distress crayon on the tip of my finger over the braid to tone it down a bit.
I used:
A selection of papers
Calico or smooth cotton
Versafine Clair grey ink
Inktense blocks (you could use watercolour pencils or inktense pencils for this)
Versamark or embossing ink
lace/ braid

This is a great way to use up some scraps of papers and fabric. Thanks for looking!

A journal page for Bee Crafty

Hi there! Over the last month I have bought a few new goodies with my birthday money, so it was time to try them out! Here is a journal page in my 8x8 dylusions journal using several of them.

I used:
Gold gilding wax
Versamark ink
Gold Liquid pearls
A small piece of black card

Here's what I did:

I applied some texture paste through the mandala stencil to the page and left it to dry.
Next I sprayed it with the Dina Wakely gloss sprays, then left it to dry very thoroughly

I applied gilding wax to the mandala area before setting the journal aside.

I stamped the la Luna and the moon stamps in versamark onto the collage paper and heat embossed with gold powder.
I cut these out and applied them to the page with gel medium.
I used archival ink to stamp some borders and add a few extra details. Some white pen helped to make them stand out a little.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto the black card and cut it out.
I added it to the page with the gel medium, and added a few dots of liquid pearls on the circles and at the corners.
This was the first page in my new journal, although it isn't at the front. I want to get used to working on a bigger page before I attempt that.
If you do a journal page or a tag this month using Bee Crafty products, you can enter it in the current challenge in the Bee Crafty facebook group for a chance to win some stamps!

A journey into Bullet Journaling for me

Did you see Bev from Bee Crafty on Hochanda last Tuesday? The show had some fabulous stamps, templates, pens and journals, and creating my samples was my first real venture into bullet journaling.

I made quite a few samples, both journal spreads and cards, and I really enjoyed it, but have to admit I did a bit of a search for ideas on Pinterest first. I will definitely be having a journal rather than a diary from now on!

Here are a few more ideas for journal pages...

Here are a few cards too...

I also used the stamps and tag dies to make a little birthday book.

here are a few of the pages...

I will be back in the next couple of weeks with a little step by step to make one of these.

You can find the Queen Bee Journalling stamps and templates here.

The large numbers are here

Small words are here

Typewriter Alpha is here

Tag dies are here

I think you can probably see how much fun I've had and I've not really stopped since! 😁 I will share my 2021 journal progress with you in the new year.
