I joined the Bee Crafty Design Team!

A couple of weeks ago Bev from Bee Crafty messaged me to ask if I would join the Bee Crafty DT. Of course I said yes!  Things were very very busy at Bee Crafty HQ at that precise moment as they had a couple of Hochanda shows in quick succession, so whilst I was waiting to find out more, I made this canvas, that had been in my head, wanting to be made for a long while. If you would like to know how I made it, do pop over to the Bee Crafty Blog and please leave me a comment. there are links to the fabulous stamp too.
Thanks for looking!

Animal antics at Stamping Sensations

It is the first Sunday of the month and time for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations. This month our theme is Animal Antics and we are being sponsored by Crafty Individuals.
For my card I used my Elephants stamp (CI - 390) on silk art card. I masked the elephants and dusted the background in lemon yellow and cherry pink impress ink, and persimmon Distress ink. I then removed the mask and coloured the elephants with distress markers in pumice stone and weathered wood. The panel beneath was sprayed with dylusions and glimmer mist before stamping with CI- 170 background stamp in Adirondack eggplant.

So, onto this months prize. We have a voucher for £35 worth of Crafty Individuals goodies of your choice! How wonderful is that? Especially when they have a whole load of lovely new stamps out! You can read all about them on Jean's Blog.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at the projects that my talented teamies have created. I look forward to seeing the wonderful creations that I know will be entered in this challenge. Just remember  that we are a stamping challenge. If you wish your entry to be considered for the prize it must include hand stamped elements, not just digis!

Exciting news!

It is the school holidays and I haven't posted for days, in fact I have been quiet all fortnight. I will tell you why... as well as visiting Dad regularly and having a couple of days away at Lynne's in Scotland, I am working on some cards for Inkylicious!!!! Deby asked a while ago if I would be interested in making some samples for her when she next had a TV show, and I jumped at the chance! I just know lots of you will love the stamps that I have been playing with, and I can't wait to show you. There are going to be two Create and Craft shows coming up quite soon, so I will let you know the details in the next week or so, as well as giving you some sneaky peaks of the things I have made. I might just keep saying 'My cards are going to be on telly!!!'  - please forgive me, as I am very excited about it!
What I will show you today are some photos of our visit to Scotland.
We had a lovely walk along the river,

taking in views of the Moffat Hills. It was bracing, but the fresh air and exercise were just what was needed!
The following day we went to Caerlaverock WWT centre, followed by a visit to Caerlaverock Castle.
The castle's curtain wall forms a triangle, and there is a substantial mansion within it's walls.

We saw lots of wildlife too - a Peregrine falcon, lots of Buzzards, deer, teal and widgeon, to name but a few. We also saw the footprints and spraint of an otter, but he wasn't going to show himself this visit. A big thanks to Lynne for letting us visit again, and showing us some of the lovely places around her home.
Hopefully I will be back soon with something crafty to show you. Thanks for looking!

Tueday Taggers - Time

Here is my design team Card for this week's Tuesday Taggers where the theme for this week is Time and Clocks. Please pop over and join in the fun! I made the background paper by swirling Dusty concord and spiced marmalade distress inks onto my non-stick mat and spritzing with water. I lay my paper over the top and dragged it a little to ensure coverage. When it was dry and ironed flat I stamped with Hero art's leaf flourish, crafty individuals text background, a flourish from CI and Hero arts sentiment (Take Time...). The main image is from Non Sequitur, stamped in black versafine over a background brayered with Kaleidacolor Creole Spice.
I'm quite pleased that I'm still using old stamps and stash and not rushing out to buy new stuff! I'm saving my pennies for a couple of weeks time when I'm taking the car for a decent run out...to Peterborough! Yes, the draw of a bigger Sir Stampalot store was just too much to resist!

Fan'tag'stic News!

Just a quick post to tell you I've been chosen to join the design team for Tuesday Taggers! I am ecstatic! Thanks to all those people who encouraged me to go for it. I am really looking forward to working with my new very talented teamies! Thanks also to those people who have congratulated me after seeing the post on the Tuesday Taggers blog.
The card, by the way, was  a very quick monochrome card with stamps by 'Stamp to your arts content' and Hero arts.
