A Bee Crafty Journal page

Hi there! Thought I would share a journal page I finished yesterday. Here's how I did it.

I began by spraying the tag inkable with frayed burlap distress oxide spray  and pressing it onto the page. I spritzed it with a little water to get another impression at the top of the page, and tried to go for a third, but there wasn't enough ink left.
I cut a piece of Dina Wakeley collage paper big enough to fit the central area and stuck it down with Distress Matte Collage medium.
Next I stamped the coffee stains and numbers randomly around the page using peacock feathers distress oxide ink.
I used distress crayons to add a little colour into the coffee stains.

I stamped and die cut the large butterfly and coloured it using ecoline pens
I die cut a circle from black card and the words from the acetate sheet
Using the collage medium I added the circle, words and butterfly to the page.
Here is the finished page....
and here is the page opposite it's partner in my journal. If you want to see how the other page was created you can find the live here.

Being Happy Butterfly Art journal spread

Hi There! I had lots of inky painty fun with this journal spread in my Dylusions mini journal over the weekend. Here is a step by step to show what I did.

I had some spray left in a couple of my mini misters that I wanted to use for something else, so I sprayed them onto a page in my journal and let them run across the pages.

I wanted to cover up the ink from other pages that had seeped in at the page crease, so I painted lots of stripes with a fine paint brush and Dina Wakely acrylic paints in ocean, turquoise and lime.
Next I used the dotty border stamp with versafine clair ink in warm breeze around the edges.
I used distress oxide inks in salvaged patina, salty ocean and peacock feathers to stamp the coffee stains randomly across the pages
I also added a few bits of the ledger stamp randomly around the page without an acrylic block
Next I took the small butterfly inkable and brushed distress oxide ink in blueprint sketch around the edges, then set it aside.
I stamped three butterflies and a sentiment in Versafine Clair twilight ink onto Dina Wakely Collage paper,
then stuck them to the page using matte medium
I also added some white and sparkly highlights with a gelly roll clear stardust pen and a posca pen. A few gold sequins finished it off.
Close up of each page....

Here are links to the products I used:
Dina Wakely heavy body acrylic paint in Lime, Ocean and Turquoise
Distress oxide inks in Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Salvaged Patina and Blueprint Sketch

A journal page for Bee Crafty

Hi there! Over the last month I have bought a few new goodies with my birthday money, so it was time to try them out! Here is a journal page in my 8x8 dylusions journal using several of them.

I used:
Gold gilding wax
Versamark ink
Gold Liquid pearls
A small piece of black card

Here's what I did:

I applied some texture paste through the mandala stencil to the page and left it to dry.
Next I sprayed it with the Dina Wakely gloss sprays, then left it to dry very thoroughly

I applied gilding wax to the mandala area before setting the journal aside.

I stamped the la Luna and the moon stamps in versamark onto the collage paper and heat embossed with gold powder.
I cut these out and applied them to the page with gel medium.
I used archival ink to stamp some borders and add a few extra details. Some white pen helped to make them stand out a little.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto the black card and cut it out.
I added it to the page with the gel medium, and added a few dots of liquid pearls on the circles and at the corners.
This was the first page in my new journal, although it isn't at the front. I want to get used to working on a bigger page before I attempt that.
If you do a journal page or a tag this month using Bee Crafty products, you can enter it in the current challenge in the Bee Crafty facebook group for a chance to win some stamps!
