Emboss Resist

Hi There! Thought I would show you some emboss resist for some more pastel inspiration for this month's challenge over on the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook group.
I began by stamping a 4" square of white card with the freehand borders using Versamark ink. I sprinkled with Clear embossing powder and heated.

Next I used various patel shades of distress oxide inks to blend over the embossing.
Once I was happy with the colours, I gave a light spritz with water and also with Distress Spritz in Fossilized Amber.

On a separate piece of card, I stamped the sketchy flower in Sand Dune ink and coloured using pastel coloured pencils.

On another scrap of white card, I stamped the sentiment using lilac bloom ink and trimmed it to size.

Using 3d foam pads, I attached the background, the flower and the sentiment to the front of the 5x5" card.

Finally, here is a close up of the sparkly background showing the shimmer.
I used:
Versamark/ embossing ink
Distress oxide inks - I used tumbled glass, twisted citron, dried marigold, shaded lilac and spun sugar.
Distress spritz - I used fossilized Amber
coloured pencils
3d foam pads
4" square of white card
5" square base card

Monochrome

Hi there! I am here with a step by step tutorial to create this simple journal page.

I began by cutting a piece of the greyscale catalyst card from set 4 (A5) and attached it to the page using Matte Medium.
Next I covered one of the texture discs with black soot distress oxide ink, spritzed with water and pressed it onto the page. I lifted off the texture disk and dried the page using a heat tool.
Using the dotty Dinkable I added more ink using a blending brush, as well as around the edges of the page.

I cut the circles and the word from the transparency prints and added them to the page using Matte Medium.

On a scrap of white card I stamped the sketchy flower and cut it out leaving a small white border.
Finally I added the flower to the page too. Here is the finished page....
And next to it's companion in the journal.

I used:
Catalyst cards set #4 - A5 greyscale
Dinkables set #2
Transparency Prints - Beautiful and Brave, and Journaling Essentials #1
Sketchy Flowers stamp set
 Versafine Clair Black ink
Matte Medium

Although monochrome is out of my comfort zone, I love how beautifully this contrasts with it's colourful companion! It's also inspiration for the challenge over in the Bee crafty Stamps group.

Wild and Free

Hi There! I had a lovely play in my journal this week creating this page. Here's how I did it.

I began by covering the page using 2 pieces of catalyst papers. adding a torn edge which I inked using vintage photo distress ink. I stuck them down using matte medium.
I added some torn washi tape in strips down the page.
On a separate piece of paper I stamped some sketchy flowers and coloured them with ecoline pens before  cutting them out.
I also stamped the clock and cog border in grey versafine clair ink and cut it out
I added the elements to the page along with a sentiment from a transparency sheet.
Here is the finished page again.
I used:
Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne and Morning Mist
Ecoline pens

If you aren't aware already there is a brand new challenge over on the Bee Crafty Stamps facebook group where the theme is monochrome. Here's a little inspiration.

Tonight at 8pm I will be live over on the Bee Crafty stamps page creating something monochrome as inspiration too.

Inky Background Card

Hi There! I had lots of offcuts of white card on my desk so thought I would make use of one for this card.

I began by blending Distress ink across the card. I used Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral and Seedless Preserves.

Next I placed over the Tag inkable from set 3 and blended black ink through it.
Using the crackle stamp not on a block, I randomly stamped patches of crackle in Versafine Clair ink.
I added stamping using journaling essentials #1 in Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves and Versafine Clair black ink.
I added a splatter of Dina Wakley White gloss spray and left to dry.
On a scrap of black card I stamped and heat embossed a ticker tape sentiment in white.
I stamped a sketchy flower in black, coloured with pencils and cut out
Finally I matted the panel onto a 6x6 inch card, adding the sentiment and the flower on foam pads.
I used:
6x6 inch white card
14 x 7cm piece of smooth white card
Distress ink in Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot
Dina Wakley White gloss spray
Embossing ink
Coloured pencils
foam pads

I will be live at 8pm this evening over on the Bee Crafty Facebook page. I hope you can join me!

More Bees!

Hi There! For today's blog post I thought I would show you how I made this clean and simple single layer card using the new Bee Mine stamp set.

I began by using stencil tape to mask off the top and bottom of a 13cm square ivory card. I blended mermaid lagoon ink at the top of the unmasked strip, and twisted citron at the bottom.
I used one of the stamps from the sketchy flowers set and stamped it in Versafine clair Verdant across the panel
I used colouring pencils tocolour in the flowers and leaves.
Next I removed the masking tape and stamped two of the smallest bees in versafine clair nocturne. I coloured with gelly roll moonlight pens and a pale blue colouring pencil.
Finally I added a sticker sentiment and a dotted line under each bee with a black micron pen.
I used
13cm square ivory card
Colouring pencils

On Wednesday evening I did a live over on the Bee Crafty Facebook page, making another simple card and a journal page using the doodle art bee stamp set.
You can find the live here
Don't forget the challenge on the Bee Crafty Stamps facebook group is to use warm/ hot colours. We would love you to enter!

Inspired by Bev

Hi There! I couldn't wait to play with the latest journaling essentials stamps, so I used them on this card for my daughter's birthday. I also wanted to create a card a bit like the ones that Bev did in this live

I began by smooshing Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide onto a 14cm square of mixed media card.

Next I used the Andalucian Big One inkable to blend some more ink on to the background.
I used the same inks, plus some black Versafine Clair to add stamping to the background.

Next I stamped a sketchy bird and some sketchy flowers onto a scrap of white card and cut them out.
I coloured the blue tit with coloured pencils but left the flowers white.
I used a black sharpie to add a border to the panel then stuck it to a 15cm square card blank. I added the flowers and bird to the corner of the card using foam pads, and added a few drops of platinum liquid pearls. I also added some glossy accents to the eye and the beak.
Here is the finished card again.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Peacock Feathers and Wilted violet
Coloured pencils
Platinum Liquid Pearls
Foam pads

Samples for Bee Crafty's latest shows on Hobby Maker

Hi There! Did you See Bev and Sam on Monday's Hobby Maker shows? It was so lovely to see them together and back on our screens!

Here are the samples I made for the first show using the brand new sketchy Birds, sketchy flowers, freehand borders, journaling essentials and mixed messages. There were also 3 new sets of tag inkables and some gorgeous new transparencies.

On these two samples I used the acetates and added a little alcohol ink to the backs of them.

For the swallow I used an acetate and coloured it with alcohol markers.

For these two samples I created a smooshed background and then added stamping using the journaling essentials and sketchy borders

my seed packet holder would make a quick gift for mothers day, Easter, father's day or even as a wedding favour.
The second show had the faces range of stamps plus transparencies, and the first three sets of tag inkalbes. There were also some gorgeous new key and cog mdf pop-outs

On Wednesday evening I did a Facebook live and had a lovely time creating this tropical journal spread using the new stamps. You can find the live here

I used:
There is also a bundle of the new stamps
The pop outs and the transparencies will be on the website very soon
