Stamping Sensations embossing and texture

Good morning and welcome! It is the first Sunday of May and time for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations. Our challenge this month is to use Embossing and Texture and our Sponsors are Tonic Studios. For my card this month I used our lovely Ruth's stamps from the Tonic Pick of the Bunch Rudbeckia stamp set, along with the Tonic simplicity doily square die. I coloured the flower with promarkers and dusted with Tea Dye distress ink. The dry embossing was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and again dusted with tea dye DI. I added a little bit of stickles to the butterfly and the flower centre.
Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the lovely creations from my teamies and find out how to enter.
There is an awesome prize from Tonic too. Feast your eyes on this!

Flowers

I have had another play with Ruth's lovely Chrysanthemum stamps by Tonic Studios.
I seem to be having having bit of a yellow phase at the moment. Not sure why as it isn't a colour that I would normally go for. I coloured this one with my Lakeland pencils and used a versamarker to blend the colours. I picked up this tip from Debbie and I have to say it works a treat! No more paper stubs and blending alcohol for me! I also used Distress ink in Wild Honey and some American seam binding.
My second card uses Chocolate Baroque stamps. The smaller daisy was one from the butterflies and daisies themeplate, but then I saw and stamped Lynne's sunny sunflowers when I was visiting her in Scotland and had to have them. The flower and leaves on the left came from that set. I used resist stamping to make the background and added some dried marigold, wild honey, squeezed lemonade and scattered straw distress inks. The ribbon threaded border die is from Marianne Designs and the flowers in the small arch were coloured with distress inks. The sunflowers were coloured with pencils again.
Well, only a few days to go now. I think I have everything I need. The next few days will be full of lists I think!
Thanks for looking, and welcome (big wave) to my latest followers! I may have to have some candy if I get to 200.

More of Ruth's stamps

Why is it I have so much inspiration now when I'm about to go back to school? I managed another play using Ruth Hamilton's Pick of the Bunch stamps from Tonic studios. These stamps are from the chrysanthemum set and the Rudbeckia set. I used resist technique to make the background and watercoloured the flower with the summer set of distress inks. The swirly die is from Marianne designs. It isn't the best watercolouring. I thought I would try the back of some pearlised card, but it obviously wasn't the right sort of pearlised card!

Ruth's beautiful stamps

At our recent get together I had a stamp of Ruth Hamilton's Pick of the bunch stamps by Tonic Studios, and had to get some of my own! Here is my first card with them.

These stamps are from the Chrysanthemum set, with the main image coloured with promarkers and the base card stamped in Dried marigold distress ink. The emboss and cut folder is from Marianne designs, and I added a bit of diamond stickles and a few gems.
Now I know it has reached it's destination I can share it with you.
