Allsorts Challenge- a sketch

Here is my entry for this weeks Allsorts challenge.The image is from Dustin Pike (see side bar for link) and is coloured with promarkers. The patterned paper is a freebie from Glenda at Artylicious, and the red pearlescent paper is put through the cuttlebug using the hearts embossing folder. The sentiment is a peel off. It's been a very different sort of day today. I went to work as normal to find one of the classrooms had a fountain in it coming from a heating pipe. The heating was off and the temperature in most classrooms was 11 or 12 degrees. The classroom with the burst pipe was a little warmer, but rather wet! We had to close the school. We had an electrician in at school sorting out some other problems and he had to keep switching the electricity off, so it was dark and cold!  I came home at ten o'clock and spent the morning marking and getting warm again!. After lunch I made some spiced apple muffins and this card (and drank lots of tea, and surfed the net!). Thanks for looking!

Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge - Love, and Polkadoodles

Here is my entry for the first Doodle Dragon Studios challenge where the theme is love. The bear was a freebie during their blog hop, but is now available in the shop. I coloured him with promarkers and used my rectangle nesities. The background has a Crafty Individuals stamp and is edged with a Martha Stewart Punch. The Sentiment was from Little Clare Designs. P.S. I've just been told by my lovely friend Brenda that it's the theme on Polkadoodles too, so I'll enter it for that one as well!

Been a bit quiet doing lots of colouring!

Just realised I've not posted anything since Wednesday. Most evenings I've come home and got the promarkers out. I almost ranted when Meg's school was shut again, but I coloured instead. Thursday was interesting. We took my class swimming for the first time. Sixteen came to school that day, and all went smoothly until we got back on the bus to come back to school. The road outside the leisure centre was sheet ice and the bus slid sideways across the junction, coming to rest against a road sign! The children were very calm and quiet. There was one comment of 'Are we going to crash again, miss?' which was answered with 'Let's be nice and quiet whilst the driver concentrates'. By the time other motorists had got out of the way and left us with room to manoeuvre we were half an hour late getting back to school. Every child thanked the driver on the way off and several told him he was wonderful, bless 'em! He was filling up!  There have been no injuries on the playground and our school has been open every day. I'm sounding a bit self righteous now aren't I?!! Sorry!
Anyway, onto the cards. All three are digistamps. The tiger is from Crafts U Print, the monkey is from Dustin Pike and the Beautiful Hydrangea is from the lovely Teri at delicious doodles. They are all coloured with promarkers. Thanks for looking!

Grab a plate...

...and help yourself to a mince pie fresh out of the oven. My mince pies aren't the prettiest, but they taste fine! You could have some ginger cake too, although some is a gift for a friend. The hamster card (featuring a Mo Manning digistamp) is for the same people - we 'hamster sit' for them a few times each year. The Turkey card (Dustin Pike) is for my dear friend Julie who came to my rescue when the oven packed up on Christmas day last year and I had the whole family coming over on Boxing day and a gigantic turkey to cook! The last card (also Dustin Pike) is for Julie's daughter and Meg's best friend, Sam. I've done all my cards, but time is running out and I won't have time to post Meg's and Steve's cards. I had intended entering Allsorts and Tuesday Taggers, but cooking is going to have to take priority!
So, here's wishing each and every one of you a wonderful Christmas. I hope you are surrounded by those you love and that Santa brings you everything you want!

Dare U 2 Digistamp? - last minute Christmas cards

It has been a while since I've managed to enter DU2DS challenge. It isn't that I haven't had a go. I know for a fact there are two half finished cards on my craft table! Anyway, I couldn't let last minute christmas cards go by without making an effort to post some!
The two mice are from Digistamp Boutique and coloured with promarkers. the patterned paper is from Funky fairies. These two doubled as money wallets with a flap on the inside with notes tucked in! The first snowman was a freebie from Dustin Pike some months ago. Again I coloured with promarkers. The Paper was some from my stash (Dovecraft I believe) and the sentiment was from Craftwork cards.
The second snowman was another freebie, this time from Cuddly Buddly Crafts. The backing paper is more old stash from Dovecraft and I used my nestie snowflakes and another Martha Stewart punch. I'm on a roll now... about 7 more to go I think! Thanks for looking!

AAAaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Here are the last few remaining birthday cards I had left to do for December. I can get on with finishing the Christmas cards now! I am only managing to blog these because a friend has lent me her dongle. I have no landline and no broadband at the moment. It went off yesterday and it won't be back on until tomorrow night at the earliest. I'm not a happy bunny. On the up side my boss has returned to work and this week is a lot less stressful.
The cards are all digistamps except for the 3rd. The top one is from CraftsUprint, the second is from Dustin Pike, the third has stamps from the Funky flowers plate (available from The Stampman) and the last is from Christine Dark. They were all coloured with Promarkers except for the 3rd which was coloured with sakura stardust pens and a water brush. Off to do more Christmas cards now - Thanks for looking!

Allsorts challenge - Halloween

The challenge on Allsorts this week is to create something for Halloween. This is going to be a birthday card for my friend's son. He is a huge fan of Scooby Doo, and it did remind me of the opening sequence! The Digistamp is by Dustin Pike and the border was from Canon Creative Park.

Passion for Promarkers - Emerald and Marine - anything but a card

These are the colours I used on this week's passion for promarkers and below you can find my post-it note holder/ notebook.
The image is a digistamp from Dustin Pike and is called Dragon Fly!!!
Couldn't seem to find the best angle to photograph it from. Now I just need to put it on my desk at work, or maybe my desk at home, or maybe write notes in it to Steve or Meg! The possibilities are endless!!!

Two Challenges in one

I know, lots of other people do it, but this is the first time I have managed to combine two challenges. The card is for Passion for promarkers, which is polkadots this week , and Dare you to Digistamp Challenge 21, which is a sketch. These are the colours of promarkers I used.
The main image was a gorgeous freebie from Dustin Pike and the papers were from My Mind's eye. I used my lovely new big retro flower punch with the same papers and some craftwork cards card candy for the centres. The sentiment is from Digistamp boutique. It came with my Bernard set of digistamps. Links to all of these can be found on my sidebar.
I'm surrounded by some lovely new stash and I have so little time to do anything with it, but maybe it's a good job as my mojo has gone walkabout. Thanks for looking!

Dare you to Digistamp challenge 20 - a recipe

This is my first entry for a DU2DS challenge. The recipe was:

• one ribbon (a rare pink one from my stash)
• Two patterned papers (both from the cupcake crazy set on Funky Fairies)
• Three flowers (Prima with Papermania brads)

The cheeky monkey is from Dustin Pike. I've bought a couple of images from him recently with certain people in mind (particularly younger people). I coloured him with promarkers. The sentiment is a stamp from Graphicus. Thanks for looking!

Passion for promarkers- Lilac, lavender, amethyst and aubergine

Passion for promarkers challenge this week asks us to use at least two of the four purples currently available. For the first card I used lilac and lavender, along with two very small amounts of aubergine (The handbag clasp and the rainbow drop on the shoe). Stamps are from Stamporium. It was ok, but I thought I could come up with something better, so I looked what else I could colour and found this quirky digistamp that was another freebie from Dustin Pike. For this one I used all four shades of purple with pastel blue and pastel pink in addition. Papers on the first are from my stash and for the second are from a papermania creative tones pad.
So, the second is my entry for this weeks challenge. I know, it is a bit of a strange colour for a bee! Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Passion for promarkers - Pumpkin and Prussian with a Halloween theme

Here is my entry for Passion for Promarkers this week. I was quite happy with the colours for this one, but I had no suitable stamps on a Halloween theme. I found this digi stamp on Dustin Pike's blog as a freebie download. Check him out - loads of cool pics. I used Prussian, Pumpkin, Saffron, Terracotta, Dusky Pink, Lemon, Pastel Blue and Grass. Not sure what to do with it now... can't see it selling, they are more of an American thing.
