Allsorts challenge - Rags to Riches

before

Here is my Entry for this week's Allsorts challenge where the theme is Rags to Riches. I've used another mint tin (see before picture above). I've framed a small scanned picture of one of my relatives (not a clue who, but related to my maternal grandfather) using a bottle top and UTEE. The stamps on the top are hero arts script and a graphicus scroll, stamped in tea dye DI on card swiped with Antique Linen DI. The flowers, lace, pearls and ribbon were all from my stash. Thanks for looking!

Hi Sally

Sorry I've not visited in an age, I'm trying to catch up now and have had a lovely browse through all your beautiful creations.
I love that Kaisercraft paper with the seed heads on, that it a really gorgeous card. I might have to keep my eyes open for that one.
Your mint tins are really amazing too, they make a real chnage from cards don't they and would look lovely on display.
Love all your flowers and the spring flowers in the garden are so welcome aren't they, although the forecasters are threatening winter again this week, just typical, it's certainly very wet here today. We don't break up for Easter until Thursday though so still chance for the sun to reappear. I know that's no comfort to you when you're already on your holidays. Still, perfect crafting weather.
Naughty Naughty using your Birthday pressies already with a month to go!!!!!
Right I'm off to catch up with everyone else now. Will be a better blogger in future, all decorating is done....for now!!

Hugs Lisax

Hiya Sally

wow this is so special, I love it, what a way to go, I am a great believer in buying something I can decorate, its always best if the thing has food in it first.

love the way you have used the script stamp and the scroll.
brilliant.

Hi Sally

Fabolous transformation and such beautiful colours.

Do you know, when I wanted those tins last year and they were out of stock everywhere, these M&S tise went throught my mind as an alternative, but was not sure if they would work becasue of the raised elements.

Clearly they do and very well, so thank you for sharing with us at Allsorts this week.

Hi Sally
Tried to comment on your bugs but box isn't working so thought I'd drop you a line here. Your bug cards are fabulous, particularly love the second one as real bugs are definately my thing. Loved doing bug hunts with the kids when I was teaching! and still do some with my nephews n neices. These tins are fantastic too. Amazing transformation into a beautiful object!

I bet your ancestor had no idea that her picture would be cherished enough to be made into a wonderful work of heart.
Just beautful!
