Hey Sunshine Sunflower!

Hi there! I made this DL card yesterday. Thought I would show you how I made it.

I began by blending twisted citron and salvaged patina distress oxide onto some card.
I splattered it with water and patted a paper towel over it.
Next I blended a little uncharted mariner distress oxide through the circles for circles inkable.

I stamped some of the worker stamps giving the panel a border and adding flowers to the larger circles
Next I stamped the sunflower in Versafine Clair onto the background and in memento onto some white card using memento ink.
I coloured the sunflower with alcohol markers and cut it out.
I stuck the sunflower onto the background, matting and layering it onto the base card.
Finally I added a wordy sticker and used a white posca pen to colour the heart border.
Here's the card again.
I used:
Distress oxide ink in twisted citron, salvaged patina, uncharted mariner and peacock feather
DL card
Card for matting and layering
I used this same stamp set and stickers in my journal for my facebook live on Wednesday.

I coloured my butterflies, dragonflies and ladybirds with Ecoline pens

A play in my journal and some karate photos

Hi there! I am here with a colourful journal spread for you this week. I created the background ages ago, just by blending candied apple and seedless preserves distress oxide inks around the page and through the Bakewell inkable. Once this was done I added a little bit of speckled egg  distress oxide spray.

I stamped the mesh stamp from Journal art elements 3 and some coffee stains in Versafine Clair Nocturne
I stamped the numbers in Hero Arts unicorn white ink too
Setting the journal aside I stamped 5 butterflies ( I did 4 originally but then thought an odd number would be better)
I coloured them with Ecoline pens and cut them out
Next I added the butterflies to the page after stamping the antennae directly onto the page where I wanted to position them
Finally I added three of the black sentiment stickers and a few splatters of white gloss spray
Here's the finished pages

I used:
Distress oxide ink in candied apple and seedless preserves
Distress oxide spray in speckled egg

Apologies that I didn't get round to posting last week. I've been a bit busy with power of attourney duties for my dad, followed by a karate tournament! I got my level one in Judging and refereeing which was loads of fun as well as competing. Here's a few photos. Our region brought home 68 of the 144 medals. Super proud of all of our students and senseis.

A quick and simple card

I don't know about you, but it is all feeling a bit strange at the moment, but sometimes, losing yourself in a bit of crafting is a good tonic. Thought I would share a simple card that I made before the news broke on Thursday evening. Here it is.

I began by adding some kitsch flamingo distress oxide ink through the Circles 1 big one inkable directly onto a white 6x6" card blank.
Next I placed the 4"butterfly easy frame in the centre and blended over some wilted violet distress oxide ink.

I then placed the 'innie' from the 6" butterfly easy frame over the top and blended a little prize ribbon distress oxide around the edge.

Setting aside the base card I stamped the regular doodle art butterfly on a scrap of watercolour paper, coloured it with ecoline pens and cut it out.
I added some highlights with white and sparkle gelly roll moonlight pens and attached the butterfly to the main card using ultra thick gel medium.
Finally I added a sentiment from the new Bee Crafty stickers and a bit of stamping in the white space corners.
Here is the finished card again.
Here's a list of what I used:
6" square card

If you prefer your butterflies more realistic and your backgrounds more grungy, here is the card I made during my Facebook live on Wednesday evening which you can find here.

Collage and paper piecing

Hi There! For my blog post this week I thought I would make a collage background to give some more inspiration for this month's challenge on the Bee Crafty Facebook Group. Here's how I made it.

I began by sticking strips of inky paper from my scrap folder onto a 14cm square of card.

Once these were dry I gave it a thin coat of gesso leaving a small border around the edge.
Using the big ones inkables and blending brushes, I added broken china Distress oxide to the sky area and peeled paint Distress oxide to the land.
I used the stitched borders to add a line of stitching to the hills and around the edge of the panel with distress oxide inks.
Using versafine clair nocturne I stamped the house onto the background, onto a book page and onto a piece of inky card from the scrap folder. I cut the roof and front door from the inky card and cut around the house on the book page.
I assembled the house and used coloured pencils and a white gel pen to add a little colour to the windows.
I stamped trees and clouds using versafine clair and gave the trees a little colour with an ecoline pen
Finally I matted and layered it and added a ticker tape sentiment.
I used:
14cm square of card
scraps of inky mop up paper and book page
