For a Mum

Here is my offering for this week's Allsorts Challenge, where the theme is for Mother's day or someone who is like a mum to you. Here is a card I made for my friend to give to her Mum. Both of them have been there for me and were very supportive when I lost my Mum to cancer nine years ago.The stamps are all See D's (whimsical garden collection I think), except the tags spelling Mum, which were an unmounted sheet from Stamporium (No longer available).
Whenever we got a camera out my Mum used to duck out of the way, so I have very, very few pictures of her. This is the one I love the best. There was so much laughter that day, with Meg in her first shoes (we couldn't find any small enough for ages. Eventually we found some size 2s in Next) She started walking straight away and was running by the end of the afternoon! Mum was on top of the world that she had shared that special moment!

Sally this card is just gorgeous, love those flower stamps and the colours you have used. What a lovely pic, cherished I'm sure, of your Mum. I lost my Mum 4 years ago and she was just the same as yours very camera shy lol. I have to say you are the spit of your lovely Mum. Thanks for sharing that. Hugs

You've got me crying now. We don't appreciate our Mums till they've gone - sadly :( How great that you can think of someone else at this time. Good for you.

Really beautiful card Sally and a lovely piece about your Mum. It got me quite choked up as this time of year is always difficult (I lost my own dear Mum 5 years ago to Alzheimer's) although I still have my mother in law who is like a Mum to me anyway.
Hugs, Fliss xxx

Hi Sally

What a beautiful card. I am sure your friend was really pleased with it.

What a lovely photograph too and such a great little story behind it.

I think all Mum's are camera shy - they were always to busy looking after us to feel "respectable" enough for a "quick snap". Yet of course they were always beautiful in our eyes (except for when they told us off LOL!!!).

In fact, photographs full stop were quite rare when I was young. I don't think Mum and Dad could afford to have the films developed - not like today's digital snaps that we take constantly. We are so fortunate to live in this day and age.

I still have my Mum but not my Dad. I would love Dad to be back, even for just a day, for him to see how things have changed. He would be amazed and find it all totally unbelievable.

Anyway...............

Thank you for playing along with Allsorts this week.

Love Jules xx
