Clearing out the cobwebs

For the past couple of weeks I haven't had much in the way of fresh air. I've been to Karate, so I've had my exercise, and I've done playground duty, but growing up in the countryside, I don't count inner city playground as fresh air!
Today we went to see my Dad and took him out for a stroll around Bothamsall in North Notts. Although most trees are still bare, apart from the odd catkin, there are definitely signs of spring. The walk took us across the river Maun and the river Meden.
It also took us across some lovely farm land. It is just a shame you can't hear the skylarks, and what a glorious sky they were singing in!
And of course I spotted some rather lovely trees!
This next oak was a particular favourite...
The sunshine and fresh breeze really changed my mood, and I came home feeling refreshed and more in the mood for crafting... especially if it involves tree stamps!
Thanks for looking, and I hope you have enjoyed some sunshine today too.

Beautiful, Sally - music to the soul I'm sure. Nothing beats the sound of skylarks except blackbird song :-) Sounds as if it was just what you needed and I must confess to feeling pretty much the same way myself. Hope you get to play now x

What wonderful photographs Sally - it's so good to take in some fresh-air every now and again isn't it. Your local countryside is beautiful. Hope your Dad enjoyed the walk.

Lovely fresh air! I enjoyed it myself today as I went bird-watching all day. I'm a bit tuckered out now but it did me good to get out!

I so understand your need for fresh air. 'Cabin Fever' has hit Ian and myself big time! This will be relieved when we venture out on a bike for the first time since last October!

We must bring Guzzisue along and meet up again soon. This has become more awkward as Ian is now on a shift pattern. Will be in touch soon.

I love trees as well, especially the "skeletons" in winter. Isn't it amazing what a walk in fresh air cando to you? I'm glad that you felt so much better after it.

Your walk sounds perfect, Sally. It's lovely to be able to get out in the countryside to get some fresh air in your lungs isn't it. We are so lucky, even DD's school is in the countryside although being high it fair blows a gale even on the calmest days!! Bet playground duty is bracing for the teachers in lots of ways, lol.
Your bare trees are so beautiful.
Hope Monday teats you well.
hugs Lisax
