Here are a couple of cards I have just finished off, and are eligible for Di's crafty snippet challenge. The first is for the son of a friend of mine. I can't believe he is 18 already. He is a travel loving, trumpet playing rugby player, and you can't find those all together on a card in the shops!
The bunting is a set of Whimsy stamps, the music background and dotty stamps are from Inkylicious and the trumpet and rugby ball are clip art. the snippets are the scraps of brown and the green panel behind the trumpet.
Bless him, he needed a suit to go for an interview and the only suit he had was a scuba diving one! The rest of his wardrobe is jeans, so hopefully this grungy card will go down well! The background was created with distress inks in brushed corduroy and broken china.
My second card is for the niece of a colleague.
this used up quite a lot of snippets, including a piece of ribbon, some scraps of black and some more Pink Petticoat paper. The lovely key charm was copper coloured originally, but didn't look right so I coloured it with a silver leaf pen. The dress is made using a set of artistic impression stamps and was inspired by one in Meg's wardrobe!
Sorry if I gave the impression a couple of weeks ago that I had used all my snippets (can you hear my hubby laughing hysterically?!) I had just used up those particular papers - there is a good few kilos left to go!
I'm off to the snippet playground with both of these, my skipping rope and a bag of cherry lips, but you won't catch me sitting on the swings after all the rain we have had! I'm hoping the duckpond hasn't turned into a lake!
Thanks for looking!

Glorious collage background to the first one & so original with all those elements included. The rugby ball positioned over the perimeter of the base layer is a super touch too.
I love the dimension of the dress in the second project & the way the fan of the dress echoes the scallops of the black lacey edging. Beautifully elegant & I can see that the key needed to be silver - ingenious solution that.
Hard to imagine these are both from snippets.

Oh Sally, you gave me a good laugh with your post :) Cheered me up no end and both your cards are totally fabulous. Well captured for the 18th and those diverse interests - and the 21st card is brilliant too.
Sorry, still sniggering here - perhaps if the 18 year old turned up for the interview in his scuba suit he might get the job, for pure entertainment value at the very least :)) And pleased to hear you still have a shed load of snippets of course.

Two gorgeous cards Sally, love them both.xxx
another couple of fab cards Sally.
Both gorgeous cards, Sally. Bet Meg looks stunning in her dress. Wish I had one like that!!!
18 year old boys are a nightmare to make cards for, but you've done a brilliant job. I didn't even try when my nephew turned 18 last Friday. He's a rugby playing builder with a wicked sense of humour but wouldn't appreciate a handmade card!!!!!
Hope your week is going well.
Hugs Lisax
Fabulous cards and so right for the recipients.

Hi Sal
Two fabby snippet makes.
Love them both. Fabulous colours on the first one and I love the bunting with the little messages.
A bag of cherry lips used to last a lifetime didn't they?!?!?
Love Jules xx
Fabulous cards Sally, like you say, you couldn't find these in the shops. Lucky Meg is she has a dress like this in the wardrobe. But I have to say yuk to the cherry lips did NOT like these, I'm more of a cough candy type of girl, the crumbly sort that you can feel dissolving your teeth lol x
Two perfect cards for each of the occasions. You didn't say what the interview job was? A scuba suit might have been most appropriate!!!! It's ok to use the swings cos I nipped in last night before the gates closed and put plastic bags on them so we wouldn't get wet bums!! hugs Mrs A.
Fab cards Sally. Perfect for both recipients.
I am also sniggering along with Di at the Scuba Suit image!
Thank goodness Mrs A had the foresight to put plastic bags on the swings . . . see you there later. Can I have a cherry lip please? x
Two Fantastic cards Sally. The second one looks much like a dress I made in High school. Catholic school so it had sleeves and loose so as not to show off my figure and long so as not to show my knees. Nuns! Ended up fitting my Mom perfectly. LOL
