Snowy Cottages at Craft a Scene

Good Afternoon! The first Challenge of 2013 for Craft a Scene  is Snowy Cottages, and this month we are being sponsored by my good friend Teri of Delicious Doodles. This little scene is called A Crofter's Winter, and I coloured it with promarkers, adding a few bare twigs with berries on in the foreground (Inkylicious stamp). The base card is stamped with 'Snow Dust' (Penny Black) and dotted with diamond Stickles. To add to the Scottish theme I added a tartan ribbon and a die cut snowflake.
I do hope you will come and make a scene with us this month. Do visit the challenge blog where you will see some amazing scenes from my lovely teamies. Thanks for looking!
P.S. I am very aware that I promised some blog candy for when I reached 200 followers, which was a few weeks ago, but with all the hustle and bustle of the holiday I still haven't done it. I haven't forgotten, and as soon as I have the chance I will sort something out. I promise!

Stunning scene, Sally! Love how you've made the red berries stand out, and the sparkly trees in the background, and the tartan ribbon finishes it off beautifully. Which snowflake die is that? Must get it for next winter! x

I had completely forgotten that these images were due today. Thank you for your lovely comments, Sally. I made a conscious resolution to try different ways of treating images this year. I like the way you superimposed those berried twigs on your image. It is hard to find different ways of using these images, so a lot of thought was needed this month. Have a good week. xx Maggie

I did a double take when I read your description about colouring the scene with ProMarkers; amazingly soft & so so effective. I AM going to get my head round these alcohol markers. Those red berries are superbly effective & I love your background.

This looks such a lovely scene, and the tartan ribbon fits perfectly. Nice to look at, but I know I would not want to have to get out and go to work in that!

You really are so clever at scenes Sally. They are not my forte at all. You've coloured this one so perfectly I thought it was a printed one from a CD! I love the soft stamping on the base card with the touch of sparkle and the tartan ribbon is a beautiful elegant touch.
