My new favourite ink combination!

After all those gorgeous sunsets in Wales (see this post), and more in Scotland when I went to visit Lynne last weekend, I had to have a go at seeing whether I could recreate those colours. I opted for Memento inks in Grape Jelly and Lilac posies with some Lemon yellow Impress ink on silk art card. This is what I came up with.
I stamped the Inkylicious 'Tree of Life' in Black Archival and used the tree roots to make the border. The sentiment is from the set 'Sentiments one'.
This next card uses the largest of the Northern Pine set,  Birds from Windswept and a sentiment available soon!  The images were stamped in Memento tuxedo black. Below the masked area I used a wet brush  over the dusted inks to give the impression of water. It looks better in real life than on the photo. This might be my next video tutorial I think. Let me know what you think.
Thanks for looking, and enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend x
Edit: You can find a video tutorial to make this card here.

Two stunning card Sally, I love them both, but if pushed would have to pick the Northern Pine tree, such a great sentiment.

Fabulous cards Sally - the inky colours are glorious, and I love how you created the beautiful swirly borders with the tree roots. Two stamps for the price of one - LOVE it!

Sounds a super idea for a video tutorial. I love the way you used the tree roots on the first one for your edge stamping - superbly effective & my favourite of the two.

Sally, these cards are delicious. What a clever idea to use the roots of the tree to make the border in the first card. The second card, however, is my clear favorite. It so reflects my mood and the things in nature that touch my heart - this actually reminds me a lot of our vacation in British Columbia. I would love to watch a video tutorial about this!

Stunning cards, and think you captured the awesome sunset most wonderfully. Loved your choice of stamps too (I'll check your links too!) and I especially liked the sentiment on your pine card. Your water reflecting the sunset sky had so much movement ...just beautiful. Fab idea to use the curly tree roots as a border too. TFS & Hugs
