A colleague asked me to make a wedding card for her niece. The wedding theme is herbs, which I thought was lovely, particularly as I grow lots! I really wanted to buy the Jane Shasky cd called herb garden that Joanna Sheen brought out a while ago, but it is no longer available! Time to stop kicking myself and start thinking!
Plan B was to find some herb like stamps amongst my collection and stamp something. this is what I came up with.
The sentiment and lavender stamps are from Inkylicious and the thyme and mint leaves are from Chocolate Baroque. I dusted the sentiment panel in faded lilac distress ink and embossed the sentiment with some lilac embossing powder that I have had for ages but rarely used! I added a ribbon and some liquid pearls. I think it is quite unusual for a wedding card, but I was pleased with the result, as was the lady who commissioned it.
Well, my dashboard seems to be fixed and is showing all the blogs I follow once more, thank goodness! Just when I have no more spare time and a busy weekend ahead visiting a university and preparing lots for work.
I hope I will manage a few minutes catching up soon
Thanks for looking!

A gorgeous card! So beautifully and delicately stamped and coloured. It reminds me of a watercolour picture - fabulous! Karen x

Unusual, but beautiful Sally. I'm sure the couple receiving it will love it too. The CD you are thinking of is called Jane Shasky, From The Heart Of The Garden, it's still available from Joanna Sheen's website. The Herb Garden is a section of the CD.

Simply beautiful. Love the soft lavender and the pale green leaves on your pretty background. The lacey die cut of the sentiment was so pretty with the delicate lace too. I'm sure your friend was so pleased with your design. It's lovely. TFS & Hugs
Beautiful card & what a lovely change for a wedding theme! Sue beat me to it, the CD is still available:-)

Of course she was pleased with the card, who wouldn't be?
It is BEAUTIFUL.
wonderful card indeed Sally and innovation is often or usually actually born of necessity :D
Love the delicate stamping...
..and yes blogger fixed mine thankfully on Wednesday here was only out for few days, or that I noticed as was really busy early in week.
.. when it happens I keep reminding myself that it is free service.. that kind of helps a bit.. they usually fix them eventually!! the glitches that is!
thanks for popping over,

Your card reminds me of the needlepoint sampling my grandmother would do on dishcloths, pillow cases, and hand towels, so to me it has an old fashioned wedding card feel to me. I love the softness of it. I think it is a perfect wedding card.
