Autumnal wandering

Finally I made it back to blog land! I have had a very successful if tiring week, so today I've had a little bit of fresh air and some craft time. First of all my card.
I used distress inks and a range of Elusive images stamps, oh and hero arts old French writing. I also embossed the tree with mirror gold embossing powder. The challenge this fortnight at the Stampman is Autumn, so I thought I'd enter it.
We had a lovely walk on the Robin Hood Way  (a great footpath through Sherwood Forest) this afternoon, with my Dad.There were some fabulous fungi specimens.

Lots of Fly Agaric from tiny ones like this to some the size of dinner plates.
Not sure what this one is but there were lots.
This one was quite big - you could pull up a chair and rest your cup on it!

We walked through an area where the only dry land was the footpath. Both sides of the path were waterlogged and swampy. Looking at the trees it has been like this for a while. A little eerie at first, but we saw woodpeckers, ducks, a pair of Buzzards and some warblers too. Further along the rivers Meden and Maun meet and part again, and the view down the Maun from a little footbridge was very tranquil.
I'm sure if we had had a little more time to stand and watch we would've seen a kingfisher or a water vole. Thanks for looking and I hope you get some tranquil moments this weekend. If you manage an Autumnal creation you could add buttons and a bow and enter it into the sir stampalot challenge too!

Morning Sally

What awesom photos, I had to look twice at the orange one with spots, it looks surreal.

A super card as well. Nice to see Hero H2365 doing it's stuff - I know I am so sad.

Lovely photos - what a serene location. I have a 'thing' for fungi so I really appreciate seeing those. Think I may be tempted to leave the essay work and go out to walk myself today - the birds are calling, lol - although Port Sunny was fun yesterday, I must admit. Great card, too, Sally.

Gorgeous card! I just love the autumn colours.

We had a walk in Sherwood Pines yesterday and found lots of fungi. There seem to be more of the red ones (Fly Agaric) this year then I ever remember seeing before. Didn't spot any fairies sitting on top, though! xx

Your card is gorgeous. All those gorgeous leaves and the embossed tree is brilliant. Love the French writing set at an angle .. great touch.

Your walk photographs are great too. So many interesting things to see in nature if we take the time to look.

I hope you have a more relaxed week this week.

My OH and I went for a walk round Rufford Park the weekend before last and saw loads of different fungi. As usual I had forgotten my camera and took some pics on my phone but I've never downloaded them from my phone before so need my son to show his old Mum how to do it, Haha!

Your photos are wonderful Sally. Thanks for sharing them and I love your card too. Really lovely colours.
