It was back to work with a vengeance last week, so I stared longingly at my new goodies without playing with them. The weekend was mostly filled with Father's day preparations and a bit of an outing for the two grandads, Steve and his sisters family. However I did find time to have a little play. My first card was a little scene inspired by Deby at Inkylicious, who likes the Kaleidacolor creole spice ink pad. I used all Inkylicious stamps, my ink dusters and a bit of masking.
I love these colours, and the new Cow Parsley stamp. I added a bit of glitter too, which you can see better in the next photo.
I finished it off with some embossed lines either side of the coloured panel.
Next I decided to have a go with my Pan Pastels.
I am not totally sure what I think of these yet. I can't see that I will be able to do anything more than I do with ink, and ink is considerably cheaper. The ribbon was from Doncaster too - I loved the colour combo. Again all stamps are from Inkylicious (Wild Meadow and Create a collage Meadow).
Finally I will leave you with a photo of some of the deer in Wollaton Park.
These are the Fallow Deer, but there are also red deer, and there will be photos of those on Meg's blog very soon. Thanks for looking!

Utterly gorgeous Sally. Love those lovely stamps x
Hi Sally - Creole Spice is one of my favourite Kaleidacolor combinations, and you have created a stunning scene with them. The glitter adds a touch of magic too.
I was interested to read your comment on Pan Pastels - I have seen several beautiful PP projects on blogland, but was put off buying because of the price, and of course you would need more than 2 or 3!!
The Fallow Deer are beautiful - you certainly know how to take a perfect photo!

All your cards are beautiful, Sally. I love these Inkylicious grass stamps and have several now after seeing both yours and Deby's cards.
I'm with Sylvia on the pan pastels, a bit out of my price range too and I do so love my DI's, nothing would ever come close to those I think.
Don't work too hard.
Hugs Lisax
Love both cards. Lots of depth to the first one, and I love the colours. Creole Spice is my favourite Kaleidacolor one too. x
I agree, those Creole Spice colours are wonderful and you are quite the mistress of those ink dusters too.
Like Lisa I love my Distress Inks best too but I do like the soft chalky effect of the PPs for a slightly different look and I do find them very easy to blend as well. I also think they are going to last a very long time which will balance the cost somewhat.
As for your cards, I think they are both gorgeous and you are really tempting me to visit Deby's webshop and I was trying to be sooooo good, lol!
Love your photo of the deer. Look at the beautiful velvet on those antlers!

I'm stunned by the first - absolutely gorgeous colour combination. Just starting to have some success with the sponging so intrigued by your use of the dye inks - will have to have another go with my memento inkpads.
Interesting with the PanPastels - i have so many different colouring media the PP will have to wait as I too have wondered about what I can do that I can't with inks.

Love both cards beautiful color and designing..

Wow absolutely stunning Sally I am in awe of your sponging technique:) I love your first card and may have to get that cow parsley stamp!

Oh Sally your cards are so beautiful.

Both cards are absolutely gorgeous! You are so talented at inking!
What gorgeous cards Sally, if I were as good as you with the ink dusters I wouldn't bother buying any other colouring medium. I do love the pans though, and have found that it's definitely worth buying the proper sponges - much better than the make up type x
Well you may not be too sure what you think of these cards Sally but I LOVE them!!! Great maternity and baby card too in the later post :) xxx
