In Bloom

When I saw the theme for Allsorts this week I was quite pleased, as I had this card nearly finished. After my trip to Doncaster, where I bought this beautiful Hydrangea stamp from Inkylicious, I have been itching to have a go at a background dusted on linen look card stock with my ink dusters. I got out the Spring distress inks (LOVE these colours!) and made the background, adding a little detail with the text stamp and some sequin waste. I stamped the Hydrangea in black and added a line of white gel pen around the edge. I saw one of Deby's cards where she had done this and loved how it made the image pop. I added an embossed panel, some ribbon, some flowers and leaves cut with a Marianne Designs die, and a few spots of diamond Stickles. All stamps are from Inkylicious. I'd also like to enter this into the challenge at Penny Black and More where the theme is Summer blooms. Thanks for looking!

Totally lovely Sal.

Those two colours do compliment each other perfectly don't they, then H2365 creates a perfect background for that hydrangea stamp. And yes, the white gel pen really does add to the interest of the card.

Thanks so much for sharing you lovely work and joining our 'Summer Blooms' theme at Penny Black and More.

Wow, the difference the white gel pen makes is incredible. It really does pop! These colours are so dreamy... perfect for a midsummer's night eve (minus the rain please!)

Love the way the yellow on those rolled flowers picks out the Lemonade you used for the background. The ink dusters have really come out beautifully on the linen cardstock & your sequin waster 7 script really add interest. As for the gel pen technique - brilliant, i've often used it to tidy up a stamped image on white card but never thought of this.

I love the background on this card and how the stamped flower seems to come forward into the embellished flowers. Very crafty effect. Your trip to the National Park in September sounds like fun. Isn't it strange that every day things (like Tesco, jam & cream scones, brass band) should turn out to be such a treat for our foreign visitors. See you later in the playground. Might be able to rustle up a few scones to bring too.
Hugs Mrs A.
