Maple leaves

Here is another of those beautiful Nicecrane images from the Incredible Jessie Willcox collection. I loved the blue dress contrasting with the autumn leaves and so layered the image on snippets of copper and blue papers and mounted on a card base. This had been dusted and stamped with the Inkylicious maple leaves in Kaleidacolor Autumn leaves ink. The sentiment is from Inky Doodles. I am off to Miss Di's snippet playground with this one. Hope it is a bit drier than it is here - might need a hot toddy to keep me going! Steve went out to fill the bird feeders in time for this weekend's big garden Birdwatch, and it was rain that hurt! Great big spots that were cold and blown at you with force!
I also needed another thank you card for a male, so I used the larger of the maple leaf stamps and Kaleidacolor Creole Spice.
The Sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque and fit perfectly in the stripe where I put the masking tape. This ended up less clean and simple than I'd intended - another 'save' where my fingertips had left their little smudges! I do love this ink pad!
Thanks for looking!

What fabulous creations Sally - the Maple leaf stamp is awesome, and I love how you have used it on these two beautiful, yet very different, cards.

Two beautiful cards Sally, I love how the maple leaf matches the leaves in the image you've used. And I especially love the colours you've used in the second card.

A fabulous image on a super background. Really loved the intense blue of the image against your coppery leaves. Thanks for reminding me about the K pads. Both your cards are beautiful, and I think the fall leaf is one of my most favorite looks for any background or focal image too. Liked the layout and I'm seeing these Nicecrane pretty images on so many blogs. Have got to get myself some! TFS & hope your rain has dried away. See ya in the Playground. Hugs

Gorgeous snippets card Sally! I do love the image plus those leaves all tying it together. And the diagonally split blue snippet is a nice touch, plus a way to use a snippet that would have been too small!

Hugs, Di xx

Those maple leaves give a super backdrop for the image & I like your snippety blue matting. The second one is my favourite because - the way that top right leaf extends down onto the centre strip & meets at the point leads the eye beautifully.

Both cards are quite gorgeous but I am partial to the top card. That blue dress and the blue paper--so striking!

I'm playing catch up again Sally, lol! You probably know I don't do digital but I do love the background of your first card and the unique way you mounted the main image. The second card is right up my street and you reminded me I have several of these inkpads not used in an absolute age. Hope they haven't dried up!
