The Great Outdoors and Tropical Shores

It's the first Sunday in March and time for new Challenges at Stamping Sensations and Craft a Scene. It was my turn to choose the theme at Stamping Sensations and I chose 'The Great Outdoors'. Our sponsors this month are a favourite company of mine, Crafty Individuals, so I had no problem choosing stamps of theirs to fit this theme. I made my first card with Crafty Individuals CI-191, CI-182,CI-234 and crafty masks - fabulous ferns.

The background was dusted with my inkylicious ink dusters and distress inks in China Blue, Mowed Lawn and Crushed Olive.
My second card features CI-284, CI-182 and background papers book 6.

The main image was stamped onto some watercolour card that I had brushed with H2Os, and has a lovely sparkly sheen. You might just be able to see it here.
It is also time for another challenge at Craft a Scene, where the theme this month is Tropical Shores. Here is my card.
I used Stampscapes stamps (Palms with Huts small set), my ink dusters and Adirondack inks in Peach Bellini, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow and Mountain Rose. I added a few highlights with white gel pen.
There is lots more lovely inspiration at both challenge blogs from my lovely teamies, so do drop by both to take a look. Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments!

Where to start Sally, naturally I love your tropical scene, especially the blend of yellows through to oranges.

And both of your Crafty Individual creations are gorgeous in their own way.

with that little wrent & the greenery the first just has to be my favourite - I particularly like the way you've got the bird coloured & the rest of the image is transparent allowing the background to be visible through the frame. The blue swirls are a lovely touch in the sky - really giving a sense of movement.
In the second your matting really picks out the background paper & I love your use of that swirl again.
The Tropical scene is intriguing with that sun effect & I do love the shape of the die-cut panel.

Lovely cards, Sally. I have a feeling that I have that wren stamp, it looks the same as mine, but I love the way you have used it to create that scene. Thank you for your lovely comment on my Craft a scene this week. Take care. xx Maggie

Such beautiful cards all three Sally! I just glanced at Lisa's comment just as I was starting to type and realised she has said exactly what I was going to say, lol! I say it anyway because I DO love the background on the first one and somehow it makes it look as though the main image is on matte glass so that the background is visible through it. The sheen on the second one is visible and the girls in that image look so carefree. The third one looks HOT!!! That sun stamp is really effective and I love the reflection in the water. Beautiful work as always Sally.
