Less is more - a touch of red

Happy Mothers day everyone. Hope you are having a great day. I have had some lovely crafting time this morning and  managed to come up with a couple of cards for the Less is More challenge.
First up is a long thin card (A5 folded lengthways) stamped with a set called tranquil by ISC.
Initially I made it without the sun (or is it a moon?), but I couldn't resist adding it. I'm also not sure about the red flowers at the bottom, but it looked a bit strange without them.
I had been playing with those roses again and there were three red ones on my table, so I quickly embossed a white card, punched the edge and embossed some lines in the gap. This then is my second card.
I was going to put a sentiment on it, but in the end I didn't. What do you think? thanks for visiting x

ooooo I haven't used that ISC stamp set for a while, I'd forgotten how gorgeous it was. You've created a beautiful card with the stamps.
Fab second card too.

I think both cards are brilliant, but the first one is just stunning. Love the stamps used. Sarah

Both fab cards.

I think one of those Craftwork Cards oval mini sentiments could be stuck on the second one with foam pads just by the flowers IF you want to add something.

Hi Sally
For me Id say the red flowers at the bottom detract a bit from the stunning sun you have created. Because I see CAS easy I can imagine it with just the one bird on the branch too...scarey lot of white space eh lol
FAB work
Thanks for your entry

Your bird card is gorgeous-fabulous stamps! Your second card is lovely too, fantastic roses.

I actually like the red flowers at the bottom! Although it might have been more CAS without them, I think it needs something there to hold in the eye. You could try them in black instead of the red, then the eye would be drawn back to the gorgeous red sun.

Love the second card too - beautiful roses, and I don't think it needs anything else. xx

Both cards are great Sally but the first one is the star of the show. It's really fabulous. Lx

Both cards are super Sally, but I kinda go along with Mandi in that the first one would be fine without the red flowers and the bird on the branch could stand well all on its own (with that fabulous sun/moon)!
Superb submissions.Have a great week.

Wow Sally, I love both these gorgeous cards. The first one is very atmospheric and I think it's perfect as it is, red flowers and red moon/sun.

Totally different style to the second card and it is really elegant. Love the richness of the deep red against the white.

Hi Sal

Two gorgeous cards.

I love the little red roses on your second one.

They look scrummy on the white embossed background. Nothing more needed on this one .. .. just perfect as it is.

Hope you had a good Mother's Day.

Love Jules xx

These cards are stunning. I love the big red ....sun I think!!
And the embossed card is stunning. It shows you need very little to make a gorgeous card. I really must have a go at these roses!!

Wow these are both gorgeous Sally! I agree with Lynne tho, perhaps the flowers would look better in black, then the moon would really stand out! How did you make the flowers on the second card?

Amazing, I especially love the first one, the red really pops.

They're both gorgeous but for me it's the second card that caused the wow! Those spiral-cut flowers are beautiful against the laciness of the embossing folder and the punched edge.
